Anyone been round the ground lately, I know I have suffered some damage to my guttering from all the snow we had, and was wondering how the stadium has stood up to its first taste of a severe winter. The North stand frozen pipes are the worst I’ve heard on here about, and if that is to be the worst we get then its not been too bad, and a little more pipe lagging will hopefully stop that in the future, unless the damage was worse than I know!

one thing i do know is that a hell of a lot of pipe work runs along the cold side of the buildings all around the ground under the first say 10 steps behind the concourses blockwork incl the boilers ect so any frost dammage will be in these areas i would have thought

Did I read somewhere on here about some paving slabs that have lifted from frost heave, if that is what it is called?

The walls inside the south end of the east stand are soaking wet inside, definite water intrusion and obviously no sunlight or through draft to dry them out. Also, the Disabled lift in that section was out of order with the brick work around it wet also. Strannge as its not an external wall but pressumbly the water has knocked out the lift electronics.

That sounds quite serious, would like to think the club knows about it! To those in the know about building work, would the sort of thing described come under the items the contractors will come back to fix later? :(

<_< Burst pipe caused the problem with water running down the lift shaft and getting into the lights and other electrics.
Many a good tune

I had the chance to have a good look at the outside of the stadium this afternoon, (the better half wanted to go to Tesco’s), and thought the blue cladding looked a bit grubby in places, especially under signs, and at the joins where it meets the brickwork. Hope all it needs is a good downpour, or maybe a jet wash in the summer, to bring it back to its former glory. Thought the brickwork and the roof cladding has bedded in well, and that it is starting to look like it has always been there, which is amazing when you consider it’s not even six months old yet! This is not a criticism of the stadium, just an observation, as sometimes when you go to a match, you don’t have the opportunity to quietly stand there and have a really good look at the place we call home.

It has been a harsh winter!
