We were straight in with no queue and out after but did have the benefit of the fact my wife and her dad are Sunderland regulars so knew where to park, where to walk and how to get away after as we had the car so that helped. The stewarding appeared to be hired help rather than Sunderland football match day folk who know what?s what, stewards in the area we were sat in knew nothing about where things were. Wondered if it was a case of Sunderland hiring out the stadium and the promotors did the rest.
parking & pubs pre match was fine, the problems arose around the ground, no signage for different stands & the stewards didnt know either. as you say the vast majority seemed to be on the night hire with a few sunderland regulars overseeing.
afterwards it was fine, stright out, back to the car park & away.
think every tour will be his last but as next year is 50th anniversary for uk i think weve got one more go at least. -

Went to see Springsteen at Sunderland last Wednesday....despite the weather, howled it down with rain from the moment we left Chesterfield all day through the gig and to the point we got back to the hotel in Durham afterwards, it was fantastic. Walked on stage at 7:30pm and did 3 hours with 28 songs and was brilliant throughout. Other half currently weighing up going to Wembley to see him again.
weather was shocking, gig was great, organisation was shambolic. -

Why?
700000 18yr old in uk, so if half opt for national service over uni/college that leaves 350000. so youd be increasing the uk military by 1/3. cost of housing, feeding, training (which will take more of your regulars away), problems of those that dont really want to be there, problems of those that shouldnt be there. will they be trained with weapons or just used for 'labour'.
i think by & large when youre 18 you know whether you want a military career or not. why not use the 'new' money for the above to reward your fulltime military for their efforts (pay, conditions, post service help).
its a desperate popularist roll of the dice by a man/party coming to the inevitable end.
