Jack Regan and George Carter, what characters they were. I'm not sure if they were modelled on the Flying Squad or the Flying Squad were modelled on them 😆😆😆. I'm sure that one or two of the show's phrases were adopted by the real Sweeney. I owned a Ford Consul 3000GT in Bronze at the time that Regan was running about in the very same model, and when I got pulled by the plod doing just over a ton on the flying mile coming back from Matlock, the sarcastic git asked where Regan was hiding. He let me off with a warning, so he wasn't that bad, although it cost me a quid's worth of raffle tickets for some Christmas do, and no, I won nowt.

Surprised how quiet it is especially with incomings and outgoings. Thought a couple of players would have departed by now 🤷♂️

😁, I didn't mind the sarcasm so long as I didn't get a ticket to go with it.
My mate's Mini Cooper decided to stick in first and reverse gears at the same time, I promise, it did happen with the old mini. A Police Rover SD1 turned up and very kindly gave the four of us a lift back to town from Stoney Middleton, so they ain't all bad.

True, but not desirable. It's not just about getting in a replacement, but the right one, and if we lose someone on, or close to deadline day, then it's in the lap of the gods. Probably the difference now is we have owners who are fans, and there's no need to sell, hopefully.
