£1,750 per match. Roughly £55 per person, if both teams have 16 players.

Yes - I'm sure it was about 1k in 2011. Suppose there is inflation, hey.

:D it was a bit one sided an 11-2 defeat if memory serves, at least you defenders had something to do, I think I touched the ball about 6 times, worth it though as one was a scuffed shot that went in.

The bobs board annual game will not be revived...i don't think we would get discount anyway unless we get the sultan of Oman to sponsor it.

Two claims to fame at the game,
1 . I scored an own goal and 2 I made a last ditch sliding tackle to which the ref, a certain Aaron Downes, came up to me and said "great tackle mate"

I remember Aaron making a big cock up disallowing a definite goal for them early on (showing his eye-sight wasn't the best :) ) I think he was being assessed at time too in getting his ref qualification hence why he did the game

I had a simliar claim to fame playing at Saltergate 20 years earlier up front with Jim Brown in a charity game, "class goal son, class goal" he said, he would have made a fine pundit.

Harry Gration was the keeper

Got a goal in front of the (empty) kop. Not bad considering I have one goal in 4 years of Sunday league football.

The pitch has completely gone its lost its grass its just a compact beach at the moment, this has happened before its playing too fast at the moment and players struggle for a touch.

I wonder what Turner and Sutcliffe's enterprise will be paying for use of Proact facilities during that tournament they're hosting?

Exhibit A- Tom Anderson's own goal- the ball positively skidded of the surface towards him.

If it was I'd have shouted "shut that door" when letting fly with the left foot screamer from the edge of the box

To be fair Chris why should they pay ,the teams are paying anyway plus a few youngsters could be picked up,there is no problem with holding tournaments, lets face it when did cfc academy ever promote a football festival....let me think...never.
