They don't. They get noticed but he does them so regularly for us now it's when he doesn't do them they get noticed.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Naylor is a quality addition to the team…he covers every blade of grass & covers gaps that can be exploited very well.
Everytime Horton went forward, Naylor was there to sweep up the danger behind him.

Naylor is an absolute Rolls Royce of a footballer at this level. We are extremely lucky to have him.

Unreal isn't he. Two volleyed left foot passes out to our left side last night were highlights. Ridiculous player at this level, barely puts a foot wrong.

As much the stand out passes but he’s just invariably in the right place at the right time. Reads the game so well so he rarely has to run about diving into challenges as he just picks things up. He’s also good going forward and chipping in with goals.

I agree with much of what you say and for a so called defensive midfielder to be on 5 goals at this stage of the season is excellent. This is in a department from where we have got too few goals in recent seasons.

However, I think there is better to come as his performances haven't been flawless. He is picking up avoidable yellows and hadn't he already had a one match ban? Also, sometimes he can be a little to casual with a pass as again demonstrated last night when he needlessly and carelessly passed the ball centrally to one of their advancing players.

Nevertheless, he's proving to be the signing we hoped him to be. Jones is proving to be an ideal partner too but, again, he's picking up yellows at a rate of knots and has already had a one match ban. Cook's system is reliant on his "two" and if we were to lose them both at the same time they would be a big miss.

He served a ban courtesy of the clown who reffed the Halifax game and sent him off for a couple of yellows.

Point being he’s still well on his way to another ban for 5 yellows (he has 4 without the said 2 yellows in one game- per Soccerbase) before and including 19 games, and also a 2 games ban for 10 yellows before 37 games.

That, exactly, is the point. The 2 yellows they got last night were correctly given by the ref which is frustrating.

The Naylor Jones pairing is integral and invaluable to the way we set up and play and should we lose them both at the same time our strength in depth could be well and truly tested especially if it occurs against our nearest challengers at the top.

Another point is that they are such good players that they can weigh up whether a booking is worth it, and last night they were. Imo, there's going to be a flagship signing at some point, which might just reduce your worrying cos we have no cover unless perhaps Hobson can be converted into a Dutch Holland type. Also, it might not be crucial for the majority of matches. I know nowt, just guesswork, and it might be very late on.

One other observation.....Banks proved last night that despite his build he's an excellent attacking midfielder.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Just finished watching BW vs Hartlepool for my sins on NLTV
The difference between the teams was Ashmore who made 4 fantastic saves but the opposition were a bit disappointing and badly missing Mancini who was superb before his injury against us.
Pretty predictable stuff from the home team. Bush throws it into the box like Tozer at every opportunity and the winner was scored with a blatant shove by Ndlovu on a defender, Otherwise pretty ineffective even though TW did well when he came on.
No atmosphere either in a crowd of 888. Our fans will make a big difference on Saturday like at Rochdale.
Coco or Berry will be key IMO against this still very physical side

I don't know about that. We played much better against Hartlepool.

Second half was the best peformance of the season but tonights was different because we had full control of the game for the first time this season.

Correct - attacking midfield is the best position for him now we have two excellent 'sitting' midfielders behind him. If Banks gets regular outings in that role, I think his goal and assists tally will be very decent.

You have to wonder why Ashmore isn't playing higher - match winner for them last night. The atmosphere was like a morgue - no wonder, the way they play and with only 888 watching - and playing on the break with 10 behind the ball at home. The commentator talked it up with comments about the skill and excitement when it was anything but. When the goal went in he reckoned that the crowd "erupted" - it was like the dead awakening I suppose, because it was hardly audible.

Horrible side to play against - that's the concern. Should win if we turn up.

Any idea why they played on Wednesday instead of Tues like everybody else? With a crowd of 888 it surely can't have been to avoid a clash with Arsenal's away Champions League fixture.

They have done it with all midweek home games I think. Well, its either them or solihull. No idea why? We did it for a time iirc because we couldn't win on a tuesday
Here we go again!
