If you'd gone to a random match (assuming town weren't playing ) yesterday at Wimbledon (say) would you be on here raving about a 6'2''ish
black lad who scores great goals with both head and feet
Yorkshire is Yorkshire
Never the twain shall meet.

Transfer market shut till January wage budget spent gives us the option of shipping out players to bring them in and only on loan look around is there anyone who can come on loan who will score goals ?

Your right we have. When was the last time he scored?
I'm as proud as the next supporter about the fact that he sits top of that chart right now but it's a bit of a false statement to make in this context because he hasn't scored in the last three matches now.

No it isn't: he is the top goalscorer; nobody has scored more than him!
If we're talking form then that's a different issue. But, is that down to Doyle individually or more of a team issue?

I saw at least three very good crosses go across the six yard box yesterday with nobody getting on the end of them. It was a sign of two things imo - bad positioning in the box and a lack of players coming forwards.

Players getting forward is what our 'one up top' systems totally rely on and bringing in a new CF would not solve this problem. I agree that both Pope and Madine would be suited to our type of system playing alone but are we suggesting that the divisions top scorer should be replaced by one of those players, or similar. Personally I think Doyle has answered critics fantastically this year and his figures speak for themselves. He wasn't the issue yesterday at all.

I've heard others say this before, though apart from his miss against Oldham where he failed to connect for a tap in, I thought he was terrific in that game. His movement, passing and holdup play were a joy. As somebody else says on this thread, the problem isn't Doyle.
EDIT: And it's no surprise that he hasn't scored in three when Cook's dropped/ messed Johnson and our tactics around. The understanding that Johnson and Doyle has is amazing as is the balls that Johnson slips through for Doyle (absolute quality), but Cook obviously doesn't want this with four games left with Johnson's loan as he's not the future (sorry, but that's as barking a decision if not worse than any that Sheridan ever made!)

He'd probably cause more problems than we are currently doing. We have no physical presence and little chance of winning aerial battles and scoring headees regularly. We are reliant on pin point crosses to unmarked or unchallenged players. Armand wasn't up to the aerial battle either before anyone says he scored one yesty

Yes he's the top scorer but he hasn't scored in the last three matches. I never said he wasn't the top scorer.

Again and therein lies his problem. If he'd stayed fit here he probably wouldn't have lost his place and he may well still be here. His town career was littered with injuries and some blamed our back room staff for his problems but it looks like the problem is far deeper and he's missing a chunk of the season again.
