I judge by the curtness of your reply you do infact assume I`m in the "keyboard warrior" bracket.

Another misconception, never mind.

Mr Mercury.

Well I liked it even with all the debating/arguing - that's what it was there for.

I disagree that people said things they wouldn't face-to-face with their mates - it's just when you make a snide/sarcastic comment that you would laugh off in person, it gets completely misrepresented in text.

I think we all realise there's more chance of Kim Jong Il actually winning an election than it coming back.

But like I have been saying Paul, if you want that kind of debate, there are other places to go.

I agree with this 100%. Things are easily misinterpreted in messages and in texts alike. Even with exclamation mark(s) at the end, trying to convey a sentence as being light-hearted, it doesn't always come out that way.

I know, and I do. But here you could talk about football AND other stuff with a diverse range of people. If you go to other places they tend to cater for a specific type of person that you identify with but in things like this it becomes a place for agreeing with people and preaching to the converted. Here, the fact that it was football first and then other stuff meant that all sorts were contributing.

Unless you could recommend some sites that aren't targetted at specific people?

I could and would class Mark Jones a "keyboard warrior and Bolshy and arrogant" he has been that way with me since i arrived on this message board which got worse with him knowing that i'm a Man United fan too, keep me on ignore mate it would be a lot better for you that way.

As for a public bar i wasn't here then so it sounds as though this kind of stuff was happening before i arrived on the scene, but to me the spireite debate room is used for all sorts of threads and if there was an area for other topics then the spireite debate room would solely be used for town material.

Hmmm, so far in the personals section we've had threads about music, GCSEs and Big Brother. Public Bar by stealth? I remember when it happened to the 'X rated banter' section.

I didn't mean this one - there are genuine points to be made in here. But can we allow personal messages to descend into general conversations no matter how nice they are?

Mr Jones causes the crap then wants it closed when he's realised he's made a big clanger and can no longer grovel his way out of it :(
