Any-body standing?

Is any-body going to stand so that they can actively do anything about things?
Or will we be stuck with the same lot again because no-one has opposed them.
With Howard leaving we need all the "doers" we can get.

He needs to apply himself doesn't he, we can't make aplications on others behalf.
He'd certainly get my vote over a lot of the current board

it'll only cost you a tenner for a years membership though Town Fan - then you would be entitled to stand

Agreed but part of me not being a member is because of my political stance to CFSS. Also with CFSS membership being so low I have a feeling all who are left are the "true believers" and trying to show them another path would be a futile attempt imho. If someone could answer my questions in the thread below then I would feel happier about joining but it seems no one wants to know.

Maybe you are right not to stand then. CFSS needs people who can be flexible in their thoughts and active on ideas they may not necessarily agree with.
We have too many stubborn people on the board at the moment ( I am not saying you are stubborn by the way!). In my humble opinion, board members have to be able to work together rather than be at loggerheads and back stabbing.

Anyone standing for election also needs to have very broad shoulders, take the flak from all quarters (which will doubtless happen, as it does already) but more importantly, have belief that what they are doing is best for the Club regardless of anything else.
My vote goes to anyone who is big enough and brave enough.

I think we have to face facts many supporters do not believe CFSS can take us any further whoever stands, dwindling membership, lack of trust, lack of respect for board members etc
The departure of Howard will leave a massive hole that no-one currently on board will be able to fill and the society will fall even further behind both in terms of fund raising and what the fans actually want
The society has never been so distant from it's fans than it is at this point in time.
CFSS did a marvelous job in saving the club and many of those involved did a fantastic job, but the back slapping never stopped and the thing hasn't moved forwards it's gone backwards.
Whilst the divisions between the two boards appear to be less than they were it's probably because there isn't a cat in hells chance of CFSS ever raising the necessary funding to take over.
I would never stand and I'll put my reason on here because I think it's a waste of time and inevitably the society will fold. You will argue that that is the wrong approach and i can't argue if I'm not prepared to stand up and be counted and try to get voted on to a board full of people who are up their own rse and won't talk to joe bloggs on the terraces, that won't answer questions posed, that won't say what they are doing, that won't releae minutes of meetings and won't say what the future of the club is.
For me the total failure of cfss can't come soon enough. It will bring another short term crisis to the club but this will ensure that options that are currently not palitable to some come to the fore.
As Hubbard and co are putting in most of the money anyway what would happen if we lost the 60k over 3 years that cfss has raised? One player down?
Do we know if BH and co would actually like to have full control of the club, have the been approached? If the answer is yes, give it to them, if the answer is no then we need to at least try and market the club for sale, which despite all the rhetoric that nobody wants it, hasn't been done.
My own opinion is that cfss has stopped looking at what is best for the club and selling jam and having the odd raffle will not sustain the club over a long period.
I don't accept thatjust cos we got riped off by Brown that this will automatically mean we can't trust anyone ever again.
For all those that think that is the biggest pile of crap they have ever read, convince me I'm wrong and explain to me why membership is dwindling.
Rememebr it's all about opinions.
