While were are on the subject why are Gateshead so poorly supported when the likes of South Shields get very respectable attendances and came from absolutely nowhere. I know Gateshead is just across the river from Newcastle but South Shields is hardly remote. Does South Shields have more identity than Gateshead?
Yes South Shields is further down the road and not seen as part of Newcastle. -
