Blur or Oasis or Pulp?
I'd say Oasis had the most standout tracks but Pulp had the standout Album.
Blur? Not really for me, liked End Of The Century though.

Pulp for me (like you say) had the album. Different class - well like the title it is just that!!
Oasis and blur made some great music, when I was a kid whats the story was the first album I bought. Great musical time IMO

6music have been droning on about it all week & the individual presenters have been ever so slightly smug about their roll in the rise of the 'movement'.
on friday they had a top 40 countdown & what a pile of crap most of it was.
pulp aside (who were never britpop & just seemed to ride on its coat tails) it seemed to be if you were northern you played lumpen rock-ish music (oasis, cast)& if you were southern it was fay & androgynous (suede, gene).
not forgetting the token crap indie bands who happened to be fronted by women (echobelly, sleeper)

Always Oasis for me!
Saw them live 13 times - always good.
Blur in the very early days, got a bit off them when Damon got a but up himself but they were a decent band.
Liked Seahorses, Hurricane No1 , Shed 7 , Bluetones, and the Madchester stuff back then.

i'll grant you friends will be friends..look up Radio ga ga live at Wembley in 1986 on you tube, possibly the finest 6 minutes of live music ever..much heavier and faster than the "pop friendly" version.

Quite liked Queen at the time. Went mainly for the support acts though but was a good gig.
