Imagine him on the steps of the Whitehouse with someone like Obama.
We'll be a laughing stock

Likewise Ed Miliband.

Cameron and Boris pretend to be conservative while they are actually trendy liberals

Are any mainstream politicians any different? Serious question as we had that half wit Perkins door knocking round us last week, they are all out of the same mould as far as I can see.

He and his entourage came round Brim a few weeks ago, he sent his staff to knock on the doors, and stood at the top of the path/driveways to gauge reaction before approaching the homeowner at their door.
Was also a guest of the club a few weeks ago (Rochdale game I think), being entertained in the boardroom.

I don't think I've ever been so worried about a potential labour leader coming to power, and I vote labour. Not who I want representing us on the world stage.

The only test is what would he do in power? - as Mayor of London, I'm struggling to think of any Conservative or even Thatcherite policies he's introduced.
He believes in all the same things that Cameron does, I tell thee. The pursuit of office for the sake of it and for looking after his mates. He just packages it differently to Cameron.

he has spent a long long time cultivating this image of the bumbling loveable toff - harmless and genuine and a friendly chap who likes a good laugh -
Don't be fooled though - he is a very clever, calculating and ruthless politician. And as dyed in the wool right wing thatcherite as you can get.

Miliband is a complete wet lettuce with the leadership and character of a baked spud

Miliband simply lacks the gravitas to be a Leader of the Country and I’ve heard nothing from him that convinces me he is anywhere near good enough to do it. You need the backing of big business to get into power and since the departure of Blair, Labour haven’t had it. Blair understood the importance of balancing State control and Capitalism and the benefits of combining the 2.
Socialist values are fine but they are worthless if Labour remain in opposition and with Miliband in charge they are merely wasting time until the next Leader of the Labour Party.

But that's the trap, style over substance - people will be fooled into voting for Boris but will get another right-leaning liberal, looking after his mates.

Blair understood style over substance more than anyone. Vacuous, empty headed soundbytes - as slippery as a snake oil saleman.
Blair, Cameron, Miliband, Johnson, Clegg - all come from the same place - with a slight tweak, any could fit into the other parties.
The Labour Party are not Socialist in the same way that the Tories are not Conservative
