I'm intrigued

Both Godleman and Reece seem to taking a bat position in front of the off stump. It seems to enable them to physically be more able to get shots away easier on both sides although with a greater lbw risk moving across.

I remember being told off at school for setting up like this and advised a 'two' was the the best bet.

Maybe I should have just followed my instinct and wouldn't have delivered so many nicks to the slips. Too late to experiment now though but its a delight on this sunny morning two see some cricket and the prospect of long, warm sunny days ahead.

I don't recall many nicks to the slips just a stylish straight bat through cover and round to mid off.
Oh and the total disintegration of your boots at Cheam CC.😅
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.

Looks like Godleman is setting up even further over now outside off stump!
