I thought it about time that old man Grigg deserved his own thread because today, once again, he was outstanding. Lead the line incredibly well, dropped into pockets to link play, never stopped running, and his positional intelligence is exceptional.

I’m even shocked at how many long balls he seems to win for a relatively small guy - Fantastic signing and he’s certainly making some eat their words.

Not sure why today deserves a will grigg thread, the outstanding player was ollie banks who absolutely ran the show, one of the best creative performances i have seen ,simply outstanding today

I agree that Banks was also outstanding today, but I personally found myself purring at Grigg’s performance once again. We’ve not had a striker who can link play as well as him for years - it was an absolute pleasure to watch.

His work rate is also second to none - constantly harassing defenders, holding the ball up when needed and making very smart runs.

I’m sure you’ll agree that he’s been a fantastic signing thus far. Long may it continue.

I'm with Bonnyman here. I thought that all the plaudits should go to Banks today. Yes, other players played a massive part in the victory (obviously) but Banks was the one that made everything click in the 2nd half and even though Grigg & Dobra coming off did disturb the flow for a short while the work put in by Banks in that 2nd half alone deserved the MOTM.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

By his own admission Grigg isn’t in the team to be a focal point and score the majority of goals. He’s there to work the centre halves and pull them all over thius creating space for the ‘3’ behind. My god does he do this well. Plus he’s managed to score 9/10 ? I’m not keeping count. If people can’t see what he brings they don’t know a lot about how Cook wants to play.

I was dubious to start with as to whether he would fit in with the way we play or whether he had the legs still. The last few games I've seen, most of his touches either find a man or the net. His running the line is excellent. Great player to have

Will Grigg is getting better every game, and was unlucky to only score the one goal. His movement on and off the ball is too good for this league, and I can see him scoring 25 goals this season at a canter.

Great player. Didn’t touch the ball for 25 minutes today but won a header defending a corner and his influence grew from that. From then he was involved in a lot and scored a crucial goal and nearly (maybe should have) another

I really didn’t rate him to begin with, thought he was here for a final pay day but his work rate is phenomenal, he’s really won me over and I think he’ll definitely score 25+ because I think we’re only going to get better.

grigg is quality and for me is getting better everytime i see him, watching today from high up in the north stand you can appreciate his movement, he worked their defence all the time he was, makes so many Offers of runs which often get ignored but constantly on the move today. got to remember this has spent most of his career at league one level, his first touch shows why.

I was gutted for him when he hit the bar, he was shaking his head for a few minutes after.

Exeter fans seem to think he's "keen on a move". As if they'd buy someone with 2.5 years on their contract anyway.

Just watched the highlights and it looked like their defender knocked it at the keeper and it just bounced off his hand and went in. Dont think grigg got a touch.

He doesn't half panic defender in this league either way.
Here we go again!

In response to your post I was going to make a joke about how hot you are mate but I've thought better of it lol. Hope all is well with you Stevie. I'll see you from the East stand next Sunday if you're going my friend. ;)

Hey AC, how's it hanging?

I think the relevant quote is: "I once was hot in quite a different way". Google 'Menopause Rhapsody' and empathise with all us women of a certain age 🤣🤣

Catch you next Sunday. Take care for now 😘
