I would go with:
Tyrer
Sheckleford Williams Palmer Horton
Naylor Jones
Mandeville Dobra Colclough
Grigg

Subs:
King or Freckleton
Banks
Jacobs
Berry
Quigley
I am sure he will start with Freckleton at centre left half though, but surely Horton will return. Neither he nor Quigs, Shecks or Williams featured in the last game against them and Dobs didn't get much time to make much of an impression, so all would be new challenges for Solihull.

I think we've played our best stuff with Mandy at RB and Banks central of the 3. I'd be tempted to revert to that formula.

tough call in some ways but i'd agree with your starting 11, i think sheckleford has to play given we are using a "new" CB pairing, he just offers that bit more defensive stability, hard to leave out banks but i'll go along with that "3", bench wise unfortunatley i think king misses out as Freckleton has to be on there, and i would for balance sake have oldaker over berry, like berry and he's a great option from the bench but i think jacobs and banks are ahead of him.

Think I’d go with OP’s team but I’d drop Jones for Oldaker. It was his error for one of Solihull’s goals and Oldaker’s been in fine form recently.

Why wasn’t Oldaker in the squad against Solihull on Boxing Day? After his performance against Aldershot.

Jones has been in terrific form all season.

And although his error was the fatal one, the series of passes leading to it were really poor. Grimes put Tyrer under a bit of pressure, Freckleton gave Jones the ball under pressure when Grimes was the pass on in more space and not facing his own goal.

Agreed on Oldakers form of late but leaving a fit Jones out seems extremely harsh, IMO.

Could be all sorts of reasons but in the case of others given an opportunity it may serve to convince Cook that his main first team choices are the strongest.

We’ll have all of the ball, id rather Oldaker’s playmaking than Jones’ destructive abilities although I’m sure whoever plays will do well. No slight on Jones who has been fantastic thus far.

In the last home game we scored 4 against an in form Aldershot and Oldaker was MOM and scored cracking goal.

In the last game we failed to score, failed to protect our defence in the opening minutes, and lost.

We are back at home and unless we anticipate we will have to defend for our lives because Solihull will have us under the cosh for the entire game I would choose Oldaker over Jones. We need as much creativity and fire power in the team as possible as if we can get revenge and take 3 points it could save the local branch of the Samaritans from having to work overtime tomorrow evening.

It will be fascinating to see the team tomorrow and see if any of us got close. I’d swap Williams for Freckleton, (don’t think Williams is fit); Jones for DJ and Dobra for Banks

Exactly that -we will dominate the ball - post 10 team looks good - swap Dobra for Jacobs starting for me though.

Anybody dropping Jones, the player that’s been widely ( and correctly ) lauded as an essential part of our side, have any concerns about our vulnerability of losing the team captain and best defensive player from the heart of the defence?

As much of the ball we may have, I’d be looking at ensuring the centre halves are given as much protection as possible.

We’ve got firepower in abundance with the front four but could look vulnerable missing Grimes.

All depends on Williams's fitness. If he's OK I agree with you, that's the best side. He might play the first hour and get subbed by Freckleton if he's not right up for it. I'm not certain Freckleton is ready for the Solihull type of game - practicing the dark arts. Look what happened to Grimes.

It’s not dropping though, it’s squad rotation, like when oldaker was MoM versus Aldershot but didn’t make the match day squad at Solihull
Away from home, Jones provides cover for the back 4 where teams are more likely to come at us. At home, where teams have usually “parked the bus” he’s a bit of a luxury we’ve not needed so oldaker or Naylor playing that role are far more mobile and able to get box to box more.

Do we know if Horton has been out injured or just not involved? Because if he's available, he'd be straight back in for me. I'd probably go for...

-------------Tyrer----------------
Mandy---Palmer---Williams---Horton
--------Naylor---Jones------------
Dobra--------Banks-------Colclough
-------------Grigg----------------

I'd imagine Freckleton will start instead of Williams, however. As such, I'd want Jones in instead of Oldaker, who's done nowt wrong, but I do think we could be a little vulnerable without our captain at the back. Thankfully, that front four has tons of goals in them. Could be quite the scoreline!

Well we know for sure they won't sit back. According to their post match interview last game they think the way to beat us is to attack especially as they now have Sbarra back, so Cookie will need to pick the team with this in mind. This could turn out to be a tricky game it will certainly be a needle match as we owe them one for getting Jamie sent off. Save the New years eve fireworks for tomorrow after we give them a pasting.
