    I see it’s reported that Paul Holmes, formerly of Everton, West Brom and others has died at the age of 56, after a battle with cancer.

    Very sad, son of CFC great Albert. I believe he came to Whittington Moor to watch with his Dad at times.

    RIP Paul.

  2. All Fa Cup Replays Scrapped

    From next season all FA Cup Replays from 1st round on are to be scrapped. Currently no replays from the 5th round.
    Positives and negatives in that.

    More chance of winning through against higher league opposition, but less chance of two big pay days.

    Danny Webb mentioned this last night. Chesterfield have used fewer players this season in the NL bar one club, so much for money bags CFC.
    Better care of players, lots of rotation, no players thrown in when tired or suffering a strain or other small injury?
