Medals from all angles in the last hour or so!! Gold and Silver in the canoeing followed by gold in the shooting. Just need Gemma Gibbons to come up trumps now in her Judo final to get Gold although she is guaranteed that or silver.

Silver for Gibbons in the Judo....still a decent hour or so for Team GB mind you!! Third in the medal table now and the track cycling is only just starting. I've not paid much attention to it but i think i read we were doing well in the team dressage as well.

**Edit**
Track cycling start as they hope to go on.....new world record in the womans team sprint!!

For about 2 minutes!!!

Great last hour for us though across the board. Plenty more medals to come these next few days as well. Buzzing now the Velodrome is in action, expecting big things from GB.

Yep....lot of pressure on the track cyclists after what happened in Beijing but every chance they can have loads of success again.

Was reading about some of the advances the GB Cycling have made in terms of technology...even gone as far as taking a lead from F1 and the tyre warmers and they are now using what they are calling "hot pants" which are shorts with heaters in them set to 35c that the cyclist can wear to keep the muscles warm in the 10 mins or so between finishing the warm up and the start of the race!!

Not looking good for Jess Varnish and Vicky atm. Hope they've not faulted on the changeover.

Be a terrible way to miss out of a Gold medal race.

Doesn't look good at the moment. GB vs China would be an awesome battle in the final.

Thrown out and dont get to contest a medal now. Not a great start but hopefully spur the rest of the team on.

Appears to be some controversy over where they made their change and they've been thrown out for doing it to early.

I think the 'total elimination' ruling is a bit harsh. It's not as though it was deliberate cheating. Fair enough, to say they didn't win the semi, but at least they should be allowed to race for Bronze.
I suppose it's the same reasoning as the false start DQ in athletics and swimming though.

Gutted for Jess, at least Vicky has 2 more goes at Gold.

Hopefully Hoy,Hinde and Kenny can take Gold, later this evening, and hoping the pursuit guys coming up soon, can lay a marker down in the heats.

How many days do we have in the velodrome Jon?? When do the Keirin and Omnium start???

Gutted there's no Madison this time around, so exciting to watch. Has the scratch race and points race been ditched as well?? Not even sure if there's an individual pursuit either, although I think most of those disciplines make up the Omnium.
Mug?? Being wrong never gets boring!
