We Seemed To Have Stopped Spreading The Play.

All season our main type of play was to spread the play from right to left, left to right, play it into the centre before spreading the play either way. Defences had absolutely no idea which side the cross would come in from. We dictated the play, pressed the opposition defence into making mistakes before bamboozling them into which direction the eventually cross would come from
We've stopped doing that.
It's got nothing to do with teams sitting in because they've been doing that all season and we've still won, we've learned how to cope with teams that sit back and park the bus. But since the bad run has started we just seemed to have switched off with our attacking capabilities.

Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Seemed to hit it long from the back more yesterday, I could only assume it was a conscious decision because we didn’t trust the pitch 🤷🏼♂️

The pitch wasn't to blame for yesterday's kamikaze defending.
But it was noticeable how the ball ran awkwardly, often confusing our players. Like playing in an inch of mud.
Again fair play to Dorking for working hard and earning their win, though. We must tighten up...

No we were dozy and lazy and looked like we just going through the motions. I don’t care what the management says about ‘being on the beach’ we just haven’t played with the intensity in recent weeks.
The ball did roll differently. It doesn’t look the same or as true as say Bromley’s where I thought we played well and just chucked the game away.
I though the players looked tentative with both turning and passing, perhaps that’s one reason they were closed down so effectively.

Totally agree with your last paragraph. Bludy L

Play Naylor alongside either Oldaker or Jones because Oldaker gives the defence no protection whatsoever on his own. When Naylor plays in the holding role with either of the two mentioned, it not only negates the opposition press somewhat by providing another outlet, it creates gaps beyond for our attacking midfielders to occupy. But I'm no Klopp or Pep, so I'm probably wrong.

Wasn’t a fan of that interview tbf. Basically admitted they couldn’t handle it and told every other team in the league that’s how to beat us if you fancy it.
That’s us shot then!
