By my definition we haven't gorra U23 team unless we are going to recruit one in the next 8 weeks. With Joe and Wharts gone, isn't Maguire our youngest?
What we've got is a final year Academy team (all under 19) haven't we, and they are not registered to play for CFC?

I agree, the description was from the website I found it on, probably just an indicator of the type of side we are expected to put out, I don't expect the XI's against lower non league sides to be much different

The academy participate in U23 matches as well as U21 U19 U18 & U17, as they have a few players over 21 in there. It enables youngsters to play regularly against men to build up strength and experience, one of the reasons Dylan Wharton was signed by Sheff U was his experience in playing against older players.

Ok Phil, ta.
So, what is the status of those over 21 within the Academy? Are they studying, teaching, coaching, triallists, or just random blokes trying to play regularly at a good standard?
I must start going to watch them again.

Alfreton, Matlock and Buxton away maybe Hallam
Home against a division 2 side and possibly a premier league U/23 team just based on previous years
Paul Cook has taken a team to Southport before so another possibility
