No. Just the "We're thinking Parkin's a tool . . . . . ."

Sorry, but that's dis-respectful!

How is he a tool? Do you know him?

A work mate of mine was talking to Parkin after the last game of last season in one of the lounges, him and Creswell came in together, both said they would give their right arm to play for us with the manager and setup we have.
I honesty do not see the problem if we do sign him, every time I have seen him he has looked a class act if a bit imobile, what is typical of this board is the total over the top reaction and slating of a player before he has even signed.
If Parkin is on trial he will have to work on his fitness possibly more than he ever has in his career, I for one will certainly back him to do that.
I would suggest if we had played Parkin last season instead of Richards, remembering the chances Richards missed Parkn would have buried half of them, he is a player who gets a chance and he usually takes it.
When we have the current option of having Armand as a plan B with Doyle as the main striker it's a no brainer. For me anyway Parkin over Armand all day every day.

Looking for a rich benefactor, now that would be a scenario I have not considered at all, you have started the old brain working on overtime.

If Parkin needs to work on his BMI, losing his right arm would be a good start.

Parkin. Not that old, has played at a decent level and scored goals at a decent level. Is a handful and may well suit our lone striker style of play, assuming PC sticks with that.
Doubt he will want anything like £5k a week or whatever he was supposed to be on before.
If you haven't got a job then £1k a week is better than the dole, £200 a week is.
I say if he proves his fitness sign him up on a weekly rolling contract, as low a basic as possible with a decent goal bonus. Gives us the option to get rid if he doesn't perform gives him the incentive to earn his keep.

What a predictable reaction from some of the less intelligent on here. I for one hope he enjoys his trial and if he does enough to impress Cook enough to offer him a deal then so be it.

Oh I see. And do you suppose Parkin knows we are just using him as a stick to force Mr Allen to open his wallet.

That's the first time I've seen Parkin and stick used in the same sentence

I think reserving judgement until we've seen how he performs in our favoured setup with our midfield supporting him would be a sensible approach.

Me too. If we'd had him here last season instead of Richards, the league would have been wrapped up in March..
We're on our way

Fresh off his trial at the mighty Lincoln eh? I think we're pushing the boat out too much, need to reel it in a bit.

The more I think about this, the more I think Turner may have been in the Middle East trying to sell the Club..Just my opinion no evidence just a feeling..Parkin situation is making me think though.

I thought that at the time but since the leaked PM I have dismissed it

With Turners maths DA would end up owing the Kuwaitis

Didn't he neglect to turn out for Lincoln? Not sure it was ever a trial, to be fair

Knowing what we know about our budget being pretty much at the limit already and the loss made last year (for whatever reasons). What would you suggest we do?

Spend what we don't have?

Sign someone else. Not someone who is gonna spend half the season injured unfit. Do we do scouting?

I said the same at the time. Why would an overseas national want to have a minority interest or even a sponsorship deal with a small town lower league football club?

However they may just be interested in buying a small dream. Not that I would want that. No way.

He's had 4 days training and didn't want to play in case he got injured according to their manager

Doesn't bode well

Imagine his size now, I might go to Leeds jus to see
