Listened to Praise or Grumble late last night on BBC Sounds app.(Instead of watching Abandoned Engineering or How Do They Do That for the Nth, time)and actually enjoyed all of it,long time since I have been able to say that, could be also because it has been a very long time since I bothered listening anyway.Just needed #Wheres Mandy on the show to top it off.

I see the yellow stain are saying that the NL was weak this year and that Shirebrook could have got out of it. Well with Salford, Barrow, Harrogate Sutton etc League 2 is not as strong now compared to when they went up a which is why they are top and proof also that the gap between League 2 and NL has lessened considerably when you see Stockport and Wrexham in top 3. We have nothing to fear and extra incentive for the stain to go up is that we’d be coming for them.

They have conveniently forgotten that Alfreton were in the NL the year they went up.

And the mighty Dartford and Braintree! Lot of teams that now are doing better but at the time they were basket cases. Stockport and Barrow both falling into NLN while Cambridge could only manage mid table.

Mansfailed fans will never admit this side is good. At the end of the day they know in their heart of hearts that their placing is naturally below us in terms of support.

Would a cheeky pre season 'friendly' be out if the question?

A whopping 2757.....which is actually 5th highest. Luton top with just under 6000. Mansfields average that season would be 10th highest this season behind the likes of Kiddy, Woking and Bromley.

Kieran Dyer summed it up; 'Everyone says how tough this league is to get out of - but suddenly it's easy 'cos we've been so dominant?!'.

You can only beat what's in front of you. We've done that - thirty times and counting...

Oh, and PS: without employing hoofball to a Godzilla centre forward, either.

PPS: or without some mid-life crisis character chucking his load at it...

Probably could reverse that mind boggling logic and say Wrexham and Notts should be grateful they didn't come up against after we strengthened this year.

Semi confident we'll see even better football in league 2. Better pitches, (slightly) less physical teams, another wave of better players. Long live Cook-Ball.

It's beyond stupid to try to compare teams and divisions ten years apart.

But hey, these are folk who've spent several years and hundreds upon hundreds of posts on a thread insisting...they don't care about us.

Nah, twenty five years of being looked down and laughed at left no scars whatsoever.

And the adults amongst us recognise the many, many parallels between what happened to our two outfits.

I'm just delighted - not to mention insanely proud - of the progress we've made over the last three years, though. Better finishes season on season. Better cup runs season on season. Better crowds season on season. All under the stewardship of Town people engendering a genuine bond between Club and community, too.

Y'know what? I'd love to be in a league where we play MTFC. And RUFC. And SWFC. And DRFC and SUFC and NCFC and...and...and... Maybe that'll happen in the not too distant future, but until then I'm more than happy to have my CFC back...

Could not care less about that lot across the motorway - They had been in our shadow for many years & let them enjoy their moment in the sunshine.
Christ they are so deluded, didn't they create a thread on Stagsnet that was hundreds of pages deep....that's obsession! We've had a disappointing blip for 6 years & normal service will be resumed in the next couple of years.

Clough has a record of failing at League One level, so i wouldn't be surprised if they struggle (IF they go up)

Unlikely. It's possible Stockport and or Wrexham might overtake them but it's difficult to make a case for finding a third that will.

Things to come out of Mansfield that any Spireite cares about, the A617 and Tom Naylor ( if we count Sutton in Ashfield as part of Scabfield) and that's about it. They can keep their six fingered gloves and their jumble sale acquired shell suits, but most of all they can keep their dump of a football ground and the team that goes with it.
