...Not especially surprised and not especially bothered, didn't show the fight when needed at CB but still deserves another chance in the league as he didn't really get it with us

Pretty lucky to get another league club. Nice to see Gorimsby aiming high

Let’s hope a few more will follow him out the door

Well reading the MA answers last night, although financially a bad idea (perfect for DA and his ever growing valuation though) we have someone working on severance pay for a few unnamed members of the squad...likely O'Grady is one of these, hopefully McCourt gets a kick up the 'arris and out of the door too

McCourt would be good fit for Grimsby. It’ll need a big severance to make O’Grady interesting to anyone

In fact from how it reads on our website that 'an agreement has been made allowing him the freedom...' sounds a bit like we've paid up his contract...

Why would we not at least try and flog him for the value of his contract, unless im misunderstood, he cant have been on that much...could he

After his performance at Barnet I'm glad he's the first out of the door. Vastly overrated for me.

Unless Grimesby have taken over the remainder of his contract which was agreed by all involved?

I'd be gutted if a grimsby fan, signing a CB from the worst team in the FL...
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Above posts sound like a bunch of sour grapes to me, and I totally disagree. IMO Whitmore is a promising player who just needs to gain experience in a decent side. I believe he will eventually do well at L2 level and maybe L1 in time.

I'm with you, his first game away at yeovil he played left back and looked a decent player, so he has/had potential.

I think MA summed it up very well last night - these aren't bad players and no one will be happier than him if players leave and go to good things. But he needs to do what's best for CFC and trimming the squad, moving players on who have been associated with failure, and getting in players who he described as 'leaders' and 'men' are what's needed to break the cycle of failure.

He made an analogy with his garden in that you have to cut it right down, and give it room to regrow so that it can come back stronger.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
