He also says that he has resigned from his agent role. In that case he should have no trouble responding openly to Chris.

Which he's done.
'Hi Chris.
Thanks for the email on my "Old" agency work email.
To clear your email up I left LPM to work for Chesterfield FC.
The FA Rules clearly state a club can not employ a Intermediary, which was my previous profession because I cancelled my FA intermediary IMS to take this position with Chesterfield FC.
Thanks for getting in touch ... fans can rest assured I am 100% behind this job
Kind Regards
Guy Branston'
Fair play to the bloke for that.
PS: I edited out a couple of kisses at the end...

I thought he meant that the reserve team season had finished so he wouldn't have those games to assess players.
https://en.wikipedia...ame#Bounce_game
A bounce game is generally a non-competitive football match played between two sides usually as part of a training exercise or to give players match practice. Managers may also use bounce games as an opportunity to observe a player in action before offering a contract. Usually these games are played on a training ground rather than in a stadium with no spectators in attendance
He did also mention getting triallists in for these games, so presumably it would allow us to check out potential signings alongside current squad members

thanks mate.
good job done.
xx
PS. I'm not much into this, but does his 'intermediary' statement cast doubt on previous CFC practice and, in particular, Mitchell's status?
Probably not.

Thanks for clarifying that. I thought he did say we wouldn't be entering a reserve side into the league though

This is so flawed - how can you assess someone fully over 1 or 2 games.

I agree with you and I remember going to the Alfreton pre season friendly a couple of years ago under cook where Nicky Featherstone played for us I believe and was superb only then for him to go onto sign for Scunthorpe before being released with no appearances, but how else would you suggest scouting said player who is currently a free agent?

It's part of the process of scouting a player it's not the whole process.
