But he's been in the role for donkey's years...surely there has been sufficient time to get the necessary qualifications.

I don't understand why Chris Turner is employed by this football club.
You and several thousand others.
How long before those in the corridors of power ask the same questions?

Interesting idea.
I`d like to know who budgeted for 7000, and what the reasoning behind it all was.
We fell short of 7000 in the first season, and that was with the new ground feel good factor - not on the back of a relegation and 2 seasons stagnation in L2. Those sat in the board room ought to be mindfull of this clubs historical levels of support - its Chesterfield football club a small lower league club which has historically had around 4000 fans - not some sleeping giant with a large fan base waiting to return if the club has success.
I know if they hadn't spent that we may not have been able to sign Evvat - or Roberts and been 1 quality player down etc - but you have to base estimates/budgets on reality. Not what you want to happen, but what you think will happen.
6500 would have been sensible - 7000 is very optimistic.
The Wembley bonus. - what is the point of targeting the JPT final if 90% of the money is going on players bonus? all your doing is risking injuries for no gain.
We need a good FA cup run, and a third round replay at the emirates, an away win with Armand scoring a hat trick, then Wenger to sign him for £1,000,000.

Why did the players get a Wembley bonus they got beat, it should be win only.

Why are we paying bonuses that eat in to the vast majority of the profit in any case? At the start of the season getting to Wembley is hypothetical - so why not make any intended bonuses conservative at that point so that if the club do go on a run the majority of money is profit?
Are we saying the players wont try unless they get a decent bonus?

That is the crux
The money is made once you reach final but why on earth he massive bonus. What happened if we played Torquay in the final and they only brought 10000, we'd have made a loss
I dont believe that part of the story actually, I think is another red herring floated by Turner to justify the situation. Not even DA/CT could be that stupid, could they?

On 2011's figures we should have received at least £64,000 for getting to the final, a percentage of ticket sales, I would assume television money, mercahndising. Even on only £10 a ticket = £150,000 + £64,000 = £220,000. Whatever the gate I don't see how we could have made a loss. UNLESS someone got their figures wrong re.bonuses. I know nothing but a bonus should be a percentage of what ever money is profit...or is this too simple?

As I said I don't believe it.
To make a loss is too stupid to bear thinking of
Edit….
If memory served me correct DA/CT waved figures off £300K about for the first visit. Although I wouldn't trust them to get that figure right it sort of backs up yours given the reduced attendance the second time. I'm sure it was confirmed we get 45% of the gate money for the final

Re. the first JPT Wembley visit, I'm sure there was talk at the time that a large percentage of the income had gone on bonuses.
