Obviously Pompey couldn't afford him.

Bought Sam Clucas for £70,000 sold for 1.3 million
If DA keeps his 70/30 split on all about goings, including Roberts and Cook himself then DS may well have a healthy "war chest". I wonder if Cook looks at this with just a little hint of envy

Don't say that, you do know you are not allowed to praise CT on here don't you?
Everything that goes wrong is his fault, yet he cannot be given any credit for anything that goes well
It's like the first rule of Bob's Board or something!

That is true, and great, but the disappointing thing is that we seem to be selling all of those assets off at once.

Cook could have had Clucas before he joined Mansfailed BUT he didn't want to know !!

A shrewd investment indeed. The biggest loss (so far - Morsy would be on par) I feel.

Let's not get carried away. Every coach with an eye on lower league football knew of Sam Clucas and his left foot. He was winning rave reviews playing for England C and Hereford and Crewe tried to sign him before Mansfield succeeded.

Not getting carried away, just a point that people are crediting managers with these signings - in this case Cook - when he was well known to us in this case, and tried to sign him before Mansfailed

But that's not PC's fault is it. DA & CT still have quite a few promising youngsters who could rake us in a lot more money if all goes well for them.

No, not Paul Cook's fault- I didn't say it was. Cook did great things in terms of recruitment and we are reaping the cash benefits right now but my fear is that it will be nigh on impossible to keep up the high standards the Cook regime set in getting players in.

£10k a man is what I've heard.

Worth mentioning several board members put their hands in their own pockets to help fund the £90k purchase of Clucas.

Not from the Cooper fee received then?

I thought mitch was the brains behind recruitment? And with him still being here - the success should continue. Cook just reaped the rewards.
