I stayed up to watch that last night - really close and exciting game. Ranked 92 in the world - well they were, I think they'll be a lot higher now.

It was a cracking match but a late night!

They performed out of their skin and deserved the win. I thought the GB coach remained ultra cool and calm, I thought she motivated the team really well.

GB women were brilliant, considering the lack of funding etc their performance was superb. Should be a confidence boost for some very tricky games coming up!
I watched it to the end as well, hoping for a similar performance from the mens team tonight v Australia

Starting to feel a tad deflated this afternoon. I think there are more GB athletes underperforming than performing above or to their personal bests. Maybe it is expectation, nerves or the team is too large and full of atheletes there for experience. I think the archery, badminton, judo, swimming, sailing and the canoeing teams have got their work to do to fulfil their medal targets. If they don't then it will be at least 4 years before they hit the back pages again.

Feel better today courtesy of Wiggo, FroomeDog and the rowers. I can see some serious medals flowing now. Come on Jamieson in the 200m breast!!!

Tis on again now .. U.S.A v Italy

Amuses me how the Italian girls look cool, calm and collected whilst all the others look like they are involved in some sort of Olympic contest ?!?!? ;)
