Am I right to assume that you all will be really happy is he gets the sack?

He will get the sack because of his own failings.

Commenting on how the worst manager in the clubs 153 year history keeps getting jobs despit his results is record, on a football forum, is fair game wouldn’t you say?
A new hope.

To be honest I don’t really care what he does or doesn’t do. He can have as many jobs as he likes, if people choose to employ him that’s up to them.

He was part of our club during an horrendous period in our history but it wasn’t all his fault.

He gets a lot of attention on here. I don’t understand why.

I think there's several reasons for the interest, for a start,he was very well backed by Allen, but brought in crocks. Things weren't going well on the pitch, but he didn't learn from his mistakes. He wouldn't accept he was the problem. If Danny Wilson or Jack Lester had been backed to the same level, then we probably wouldn't be in the position we are now. The one good thing to come out of this is that Cook has returned, and we're playing some lovely football, and that includes the academy lads who played today.
I hope for Exeter's sake, they dump the fraud before it's too late.

lester was backed in as much as he brought around 11 players in, wilson was not given much in comparison to what caldwell was given and wilson was without doubt the least backed manager by allen and to this day i believe would have kept us up that season... recently read wilsons book, he doesn't say much about his management time here but he said enough on the legends interview to confirm what we all knew anyway.

but ultimately yes, here we are a team/club on the up, watching us v orient last week i looked at orient and thought to myself this is a club simply ticking over/ surviving it, we on the other hand are a club with an excitment in the building.

The first time Cook was here, I was invited to a sponsor's dinner, and listening to Paul Cook, and his enthusiasm for the game, I think I could have dug my boots out and played for the man, and at the time i was in my fifties 😆.

Message boards are also probably aloud to have threads about ex managers.

I was thinking today how when Cook signed Chapman from Belper, and a pre-season friendly was part of the deal, along came a team of recognisable fringe players and trialists, with a decent first-team coaching staff to play a decent, competitive match at Belper. The next year, under Saunders, it was a minibus full of kids who got thrashed. Perhaps that coloured my perception of Saunders too much but from the off, it was such a tragedy to see that chancer undoing all Cook’s work through apathy and incompetence.
And yes, I hope Caldwell gets sacked. Exeter City’s fans don’t deserve him.

If you don’t care what or how he does, that’s fine that’s your opinion…but you absolutely understand why he’s getting the attention.

You appear to have slipped back into Porec and Slivovitz mode.

I know. My editing doesn't work and I can't send personal messages either. The site seems to be slowly falling to bits.

Caldwell's an ex manager of ours', Mark.

So as with other ex managers, players or associates fans on a popular CFC forum are gonna discuss their antics.

But you're bright enough to know all that, so if you're really so indifferent why post on this thread at all?

Other than to appear somehow aloof, of course...

Same reason there is a “manager merry go round thread” of hundreds of pages.

No white smoke yet but I notice his Wikipedia page now describes Caldwell as the ‘current mismanager’ of Exeter, which is accurate.
These go to eleven.
