MK Dons Match

Watched the match Vs MK Dons last night, where do I start?

Disorganised, no pattern of play, mis guided work ethic, midfield drop onto back 4, this causes confusion on who's picking up who and they tend to leave runners to each other.

Back 4 do not get tight with forwards and midfield players pass players on instead of tracking them.

Gap between back 4, midfield and forwards is too wide, midfield found it difficult to support forwards.

Do not work as a single unit, which leaves too many gaps.

Can't fault work rate although it is in many cases mis-guided and fruitless, players end up out of postition.

Most noticable problem is there does not seam to be a pattern of play, players do not take up the correct positions when they gain control of the ball, which tends to lead to less options and more difficult passes which leads to the ball being given away.

When players get hold of the ball everybody moves forward and there is no width, all the player in possession of the ball see is backs running away from them, they then tend to play a long searching ball.

In all cases when you gain control of the ball every player should take up positions and be in areas where they can accept the ball, this does not happen players tended to run into areas where there was no space.

A lot of work to be done here, cant fault the effort, but very mis-guided and unproductive.

You will get away with this when you play similar teams who are disorganised, but when you meet any entity with a degree of organisation then the team will find it difficult to control the game and will always be chasing it, this happened last night, the goal was very lucky and town had no real control of the game, no sustained pressure, MK Dons did not break sweat and coasted to the win.

No set style of play, little discipline in positioning, little organisation.

Our plan is the `give it to Jack Lester and let him win the game`
