Maguire playing left side of a back three which is unfortunately his only real position, looked a bit shakey a few times but remains good on the ball and doesn’t give it away, he’s also missed best chance of the half putting a free header from 6 yards out in middle of goal wide!
All in all, not much to worry about next season, 3 or 4 decent additions (especially a centre back) and think we will easily be top half, maybe better

Didn’t you see his two misses last night , not good enough for what Cook wants here.

I know we’ve done well against league sides in the cup, but these were one off games and when we get into the ordinary grind of L2, it may not be as easy to get wins over the line. Clearly defensively we need to improve but on the flip side, there’ll be games where we can defend deeper (if you want someone in the back line to head everything away, Grimes is your man) and the onus won’t be on us to dominate the game with a high line.
The key factor with me is Cook, I expect him to tweak the squad and improve the defence, but his overall experience and know-how will be crucial. I also think he will adapt the way we set up and play, as we won’t be going into as may games as hot favourites.

Defensively naive is what I’d call us.
Few additions in key areas and a smarter in play and we should be top 12 next season easily.

This season they have conceded 72.
Last season they scored 117 this season scored 72
I’d suggest the biggest difference between the cesspit and the basement Is the defencive capability of teams.
Our forward line is more than good enough. Our defensive midfield less so and our defence is well,!NL standard. There’s also an element of defensive naivety in how we play - probably acceptable at this level where cookie thinks we can live it because we are so dangerous up too.
Loz is playing at a standard above us. The key is does Loz suits Cooks game plan, cookie obviously he thinks not so all else is irrelevant

I'd recommend everybody listens to Phil T's fabulous interview with Kieran Dyer. The management team is aware the 'tweaks' to cope with L2 will be necessary. They should just be left to get on with it.
