Rashid will come in and bat at 8

He has more first class 100s and a similar average to Woakes

Just hope they drop Ball

If Rashid comes in for Woakes, who comes in for Ball, only got Billings or Bairstow who didn't play, unless we call up another bowler to replace Woakes in the squad.

they'll get a replacement bowler in

I'd go for David Willey for a bit of variety (and he can bash it)

Will probably be Steve Finn though

We'll be calling a bowler up to replace Woakes in the squad probably between Roland-Jones, Finn or Tom Curran it seems. You would think Rashid will come in for Woakes and if you want to drop Ball then you can play Willey or whoever replaces Woakes in the squad.

As mentioned Willey will probably get the nod and probably gives you a good variation in the bowling attack between him, Wood, Plunkett, Stokes, Rashid, Ali and a bit of Joe Root if required. All of bowling options in that side bat as well with probably only Wood not having a hundred in some format.

Just watching the highlights and something's just struck me that I've never thought about before.

Getting stumped off a wide isn't really fair is it?

I agree with you re batsman having all the advantage. Just seems a little odd when obviously the same result can't be had off the other bowler transgression; the no-ball.

A no-ball is an illegal delivery.
A wide is a crap delivery followed in this case and all "stumped" instances by crap play by the batsman
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.

There are two things in cricket that players should be dropped for all eternity, beings stumped off a wide and bowling a front foot no-ball as a spinner!!!!

With Bangladesh having beaten the Silver Ferns, the Aussies are going to be nervous tomorrow, lets hope England give them a B****Y nose and send them home!

Looks like Bairstow will replace Roy for the semi final tomorrow. Practice this morning Bairstow was first in to bat whilst Roy was fetching the balls from the outfield so some were speculating it would happen and some cricket reporters now saying it will happen.

Flaming typical that at a time we are playing our best ODI cricket the ICC manage to stick us on a used pitch that suits Pakistan down to the ground. Was exactly the same in 2013 when we made the final in 2013 against India and we ended up on a spinners paradise out of nowhere!!

Pakistan have played well but its poor that a semi final should be played on a used pitch when there is no need to do it.

That's a kop out. A good team should be able to navigate a pitch that is not to their liking, can't just keep getting handed fresh pitches which are our advantage, and Pakistan were hardly in any sort of form to be troubling us and had one day less rest than we did. Bairstow and Root showed that the conditions were more than playable enough. Fact was the batting was atrocious. Taking nothing away from Pakistan who bowled very well but so many of the dismissals were down to sheer laziness and ill advised shots, nothing to do with the pitch. Then Pakistan showed how it was done.

This new look England side only look really comfortable when chasing, they've a lot of work to do when batting first.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything!
