What a bizarre headline when they're on the verge of back-to-back promotions.

Thanks for sacking him Ipswich!
I wonder where we would be now, if they hadn’t sacked him?

Ive watched a few Ipswich games this season and strangely they seem to play an almost identical brand of football as ourselves they are just obviously better at it. Makes you wonder why it didn’t work out when Cooks had success at every other club he’s been at. Perhaps it’s as he says, he wasn’t given enough time.

Weird article. Like most, I hope PC is going to be with us for a good while yet. When he does eventually move on, for whatever reason, I’d love him to get a chance at promoting to and then managing in the top flight, mainly because he deserves a crack, but also because I’d be absolutely fascinated to watch it. It would have to be the right club for him though, and clearly that wasn’t Ipswich at that moment in time. Their loss, our gain, to say the least.

Interesting comment by Sky commentator at Ipswich game. Claims their Chief Executive, who joined Ipswich after Cook, had been tracking McKenna for a long time so it is not impossible that Cook’s days were numbered once this CE joined Ipswich

Cook has alluded to that himself, definitely something in it.

The BBC sports site has a decent piece written by their regular BBC Suffolk Ipswich reporter.
He acknowledges the work Cook did in his only close season, ‘the demolition man’ instigating a massive cull.
In their place he recruited players like Morsy, Walton, Hladky, Burgess, Chaplin and Burns - but ‘he wasn’t the new owners’ man.

Can’t hyperlink it, as it comes up on the BBC Sports app on my I pad.

See ‘Gloom to glory the fall and rise of Ipswich Town.
