As an exile I watched the game on NLTV.
The game should been done and dusted by half time. Credit to York for taking their limited opportunities in the 2nd half.
I'm struggling to comprehend the purpose of the chosen line up.Maybe Mr Cook just wished to confirm his suspicions albeit that one or two of the usual suspects predictably 'under performed '.[Sadly one of whom has had a contract extension !]
I would have liked to see those with limited game time given exposure [eg Hobson,Curtis].But maybe the decision is made in Curtis'case? .
The formation and tactics this season have worked perfectly but will not endure in League 2 -and our manager will know this.
I find it difficult to comprehend the earlier criticism of Grimes for the second goal -- as a former amateur and decent level centre back I know well the challenge once the full backs have gone AWOL.
Looking ahead I feel recruitment should focus upon 2 defensively proven full backs [Horton is a development player].An experienced centre back [alongside Grimes][Dunkley ?] + Freckleton if poss. A younger version of Mike Jones [Evans ?].An attacking and goal scoring centre mid [Conn Clark ?]
It surprises me that the NL media seem to think we are already full of EFL experience.IMHO not the case and several of our current squad face a signicant challenge.

Had major injury issues so could be a bit of a gamble.
Good point --- and one for the medics. But assuming he demonstrates full match fitness at Portsmouth we would have a perfect mix of Jones and Banks in defensive midfield.

Talking of League Two, Whats people's thoughts on Chey Dunkley
Out of contract at Shrewsbury this summer --- assuming he's on Mr Cook's 'trusted 'list then surely worth a conversation.Signing Lee Evans would be the major coup -- he's definitely on the 'trusted 'list.
