  2. Where Do You Want To Be Buried / Ashes Scattered?

    28 February 2024 - 02:49 AM

I've been quite ill recently and it's brought into view how unprepared I was should the worst happen.

So I've Been sorting a will etc and the last bit it asks you if you have any special requests with your remains. Now I'm just thinking simple cremation but what to do with those ashes?

I put down scatter me on mam tor and put my name in somewhere like the cfc memorial garden so there is a place for people to visit or at least a register of the name.

Has anyone else given much thought to this? I was surprised how little I'd thought about it and had no idea what i wanted.

Interested in other people's thoughts and ideas.

  4. Interesting Take From Wrexham Fan

    13 November 2023 - 01:51 PM

Was just perusing the various club boards and there was an interesting take on Chesterfield and their current position and performance. I think some Wrexham fans have one eye on us as we might break their record points tally. Anyway, I'd not thought of this and would be interested in what others think, could losing the play offs have been a blessing in disguise?

Counter-intuitively as it may seem, it was probably for the best that Chesterfield lost the play off final last season. They were clearly the third best side in the league but they would have been at best swimming around the likes of MKD and Swindon looking at play offs unlike us and Notts. And paying L2 wages to tread water.

Next season, a few high-end-funded clubs will be gone up to L1 and, unless say Reading get taken over and walk it, they will follow us to L1 without much serious opposition.
  5. Jim Brown Leaving His Position

    09 November 2023 - 08:10 PM

If this is Jim's idea then so be it, any other way this then its a disgrace.

Especially when the likes of Barnacle Croot cling on, despite his involvement on the Allen board and him overseeing the debacle that saw thousands of pounds stolen from the club. That seems to have all been quietly brushed under the carpet by the way.

Let us debate our 'education'; your level? Im Ph.D with two MSc PGCE and BSc, and you? Ridicule and belittlement is a form of bullying; I expect more from someone with your standard of articulation.
