Fellow SPIRITES, our usual preparations for the Winter Solstice are now finished.
The Solstice will occur at 3.27 am on Friday the 22nd of this month, the day before the SPIRITES next home fixture.
SPIRITES are asked to gather at the SIM Stadium at 3 am, when my good friend, Astra, the Pagan Goddess and Official Saviour of the SPIRITES will dispense mulled coltsfoot wine. At 3.27 the world famous Shuttlewood Stilt Dancers will perform the Inuit Quviasukvik Ceremony which, as all SPIRITES are aware, celebrates the coming year and placates the roaming spirits for good luck in the year to come.
A 4 hour meditation will follow, followed by a rousing rendition of the legendary SPIRITE chant of AUM RESHNI CHAAT, the Shuttlewood Stilt Dancers will then lead a procession down Sheffield Road to the Lidl car park, where bracelets of woven lungwort, yew and rosemary will be given to all SPIRITES for wearing at the match.
All this will ensure good fortune for the SPIRITES for the remaining season.
Peace, love and the radiance of the Cosmos to all SPIRITES.

Yes, adapted Spireite Tibetan Prayer rattles could make a lucrative addition to the Club Shop - further swelling the club’s coffers, and the deafening noise they’d make at set pieces and corners would no doubt terrify our opponent’s defences along with Will Grigg, and the “Spireite Rattle” would go down in legend, being as synonymous with the club as “Sailing”!
