First time I have been situated so close to a corner. The short inter-passing prior to the final ball in the second half was very impressive.
Jones shouting " Patience " regularly so it is obviously a well rehearsed routine.

Pleased to read that about Horton, Chris, as he was excellent against Bromley.

Perhaps, one day, Walton might be big enough to retract his recent abusive description of him.

Maidenhead can’t have busted many coupons. They lie joint second from bottom.

They tend to do well against the higher teams

Nah mate, any outfit with their point tally this stage of the season is there on merit.

And they were quite impressive going forward last neet.

That said Dorking got at 'em, and a little more quality in the box would've seen them grab a draw.

But is there quality running thru it like we have?
We're making a few changes game on game atm... are they? Or are injuries and fatigue likely to kick in as the league goes into the cooler months?
Like you, I have no idea. They are valid, and pertinent, questions, but which many others seem to have the answers to, dismissing Barnet's ability to stay with us for 46 games.

for sure this is a much trickier challenge than league 2 to league one, simply based on the 1 promotion slot, there is barely margin for error. i think we all hoped that with wrexham and county out of the way it would be a walk in the park this season but barnet are proving to be as consistent as we are so far so focus has to remain at 100%.

The focus should be 100% on breaking Wrexham's 111 points. Our squad is as good as their's was.

I appreciate your points but I never thought this rubbish league would be a walk in the park. Footballing ability alone doesn’t guarantee success when you’re up against teams which will cheat and exploit weak officials as a matter of policy. I think the directives on additional time have been worth several points to us this season- not simply because we have scored late goals but because it has neutralised the advantage opponents can gain by wasting time.

Rubbish league? There are plenty of clubs and players who eadily could play in EFL 1 or 2.ImHO.

good post, i think during the first chaotic part of the season i considered that the only challenge to us was ourselves if you get what i mean as we did not seem capable of keeping the ball out of our net, as the season begins to settle and we begin to gain a bit more control, it is aparent that we can't simply dismiss barnet as an irritant, they look like a genuine challenge. did anyone predict that?

The problem for us is that for most opponents, and their fans, is that we are one of their biggest home, and away, games of the season. We have to be so professional to cope with that, and the fans staying with the team at all times recognising that pressure on the players, especially at home. I think we now, finally, have the characters in the team, to cope with that.

Barnet can't be dismissed, that's for sure, but we have gone up a gear in the last two games. Almost total control against difficult opponents on paper, plus the seemingly impossible - successive clean sheets. "Ruthless" - yes - especially against Barnet at home.

Well I watched Barnet against Dorking and they are a better side than I thought. I was particularly impressed with Zak Brunt. He was pulling the strings. The winger Kanu also impressed. Even at two nil down I thought they would get something.

Might be one to sign next season

One thing is certain - no team has ever won any league after just 15 games of a 46 game season. It's a marathon not a sprint. There is normally ups and downs over the season but staying with the front runners throughout gives any team the chance to cross the line first.

We are in a great position with more points than I had dared to imagine at this stage but we can't get carried away or let up. There remains 93 points to play for and we won't win them all. Going forward some teams could get into contention with winning runs whilst others could fall away with a run of poor results.

I watched the Barnet game, yesterday, and they reminded me of us early season. They showed defensive frailties but had sufficient team spirit and fire power to find a way to win. The last two games we seem to have found a way of dominating games whilst keeping clean sheets. Danny Webb thinks we've found another level and I think we have a further level still to go as we could become more ruthless in front of goal. As such, it's possible that the best is yet to come.

Luke Garrard interview on their website.

Just had a listen
Quite like the honesty of Garrard and gives a bit of an insight of what he expects from his players.
I think folk in the past have seen Garrard as a bit of a dinosaur tactics wise but you can onlybwork with whatbyou have. I think if a club takes a chance on him with better players / budget, he could do something.
End of the day, he's trying to polish a turd at Boreham Wood and with the playing budget he has, has started to get a bit if a shine. I for one will keep an eye on his progression.

Barnet’s pitch could hinder them as they had a few waterlogged cancellations last season causing an end of season fixture congestion and if we get points in the bag then scoreboard pressure will also take a toll.

They won’t be closer to us in points than they are now between now and May.

Could well be but the quality of football on offer is usually dire. We are an honourable exception as we try to play it around. So many Conference sides have zero intention of playing football once they gain the lead- they just want to kill the contest. Perhaps the Football League has gone that way too since we left it but I don’t recall it ever being as bad a spectacle due to the cynical management.
These go to eleven.

There’s some outstanding segments of play from us highlighted.
Is the commentator the same as at Maidenhead? Rarely heard the expression as someone is about to shoot - “he’s going to load up”. - yet heard in both games here.
Didn’t see anything that suggests Ashmore is the best in the league.

The way we’ve controlled the last few games, Maidenhead and the crazy ref aside is impressive and getting better.

Just need to keep our hysterical fan base feet on the floor after wins and from in the sewer after they lose (it will happen eventually everyone so prepare yourself for it)
