So a week away from our first fixture back in the EFL.

And how things have changed in the six years since our demise: a responsible regime who we can guarantee will put the Club before personal gratification (though the two aren't necessarily exclusive), a manager with a similar attachment to Tairn - not to mention being amongst the most successful in the game, and unprecedented levels of support from the good people of North Derbyshire.

We've also a squad not only populated by proven talent, but with an exciting peppering of potential.

Momentum has also built through pre-season. What were disappointing yet perhaps understandable performances at the start became comfortable cruises. Including an eyebrow raising victory over a strong Rams outfit.

My ticket is bought. One of what'll no doubt be another near sell out. The cameras will be turning up. I'm looking forward to it, the staff are looking forward to it and I hope every other Spireite is looking forward to it.

We're good to go...

Agree fully with your comments. What strikes me as being so different now is the wide ranging feeling of belonging to an upwards project from our supporters, a good proportion of whom a new ones, to the Clubs administration, the management team and above all the players. I cant wait for next Friday evening!

I'd insert the words 'the majority of' in that section, we've still got the Negative Nancie's and WUM's who insist we are rubbish and not good enough.
"Do you think I'm here for your amusement" & good riddance to bad rubbish

Look whatever happens this season we have progressed and developed as a club on and off the pitch.

I?m proud of what the whole club has achieved in the last couple of years.

Do I want promotion, yeah course I do. If we don?t I will still feel a sense of pride and a calm sense of realisation what we are heading in the right direction

Bring on the football league !

The boys are back in town. Even in the dark days, I always got a tad excited about seeing my team struggle to beat the likes of Ebbsfleet. Now, there's a proper buzz and as the original post stated, expectant crowds of 8-9K+ to have come such a way is breathakingly glorious, even compared to crowds of 6k when in league 1.
There's something in the air, More than a feeling, Jump, Hungry Like a wolf, Back in Black, Whitt Moor calling, Don't Stop Believin' all exceed... Money For Nothing and Livin' on a Prayer.

Well said, Chris.

Like you, I'm also looking forward to Friday night under the new floodlights and the season as a whole, especially to see how the new players fit into the squad and how they will improve us.

We're not going to have it all our own way next season and I hope our fans show a bit a respect and some patience when required.

Up The Blues!

Well said mate. Just to see our team back in the football league is a big smile put on lots of faces, but it's the way it's been done. From bringing back Paul Cook, the Kirks taking over, building a squad that anyone would be proud of, even Danny Webb's changing hairstyle . Very proud to be a Spireite even through our bad days but now I'm floating on air with anticipation. I know we won't win every game, but I'll still be clapping the team off. COYB's.
