I ended up going to the Betis Boro game, and the London based Betis fans were great. They name their group after Patrick O'Connell who apparently is the only manager to win La Liga with Betis.

After some googling, it seems O'connell, amongst lots of other teams, also played as a guest player for us during the first World War. Not sure how that worked but if its true, a nice connection of how an ex spireite went on to win La Liga

It is true, yes. He played for us on a trial basis against Derby in a Senior Cup game in May 1919. The team was made up almost entirely of "guest" players brought in by the manager, using connections in the Manchester area. Around half the team were past, current or future internationals. O'Connell was reportedly offered terms for the 1919-20 season but opted to take up a similar offer from Dumbarton.
