National league winners goals conceded last few years (not including covid year)

    Wrexham 43
    Stockport 38
    Sutton 36
    Orient 34
    Macclesfield 46

We have conceded 61 with two left.

This was all said pre -season but we carried on regardless.
Brilliant stuff winning the league easily but looking back some of those earlier games could have gone either way.
Anyway mission accomplished but no time for sentiment the CH’s are not up to scratch-we need a leader on the pitch !!
Up top we need a better option to help Grigg out ( who will score 20+ next year)
In Cook we trust - I am guessing he is as angry as we are with the current performances-in some ways it’s good to expose the weaknesses we have prior to the new season .
FWIW - I think with some good defensive additions and help for Grigg we will be nearer the top than the bottom of the league

Paul & Kimberley from The Barrel Inn Blues Travel informed me earlier in the season that they felt it was time to let another group or individuals sponsor Bobs Board
So a big thankyou to them for what they have done for several years in sponsoring this nonsense through the good times and bad since Bob's passing
    So whats next?
The CFSS itself no longer actually exists and the board is a bit of a legacy as it creaks, groans and error codes as it post messages and Spireite thoughts

I've personally been involved in this since is inception and feel perhaps the times may also be right time to hand over the keys so to speak to the next generation of Board users

The board was a originally a board for fans managed by fans so ultimately its down to the users to decide if theres still a future for it beyond the end of May when the current hosting deals expires

    Over to you
Post below if you want to be involved in whatevers next .

Hi Rich -sorry to hear that -what does it take money wise to keep the board going ?
I sponsor the club on a few things and would be happy to contribute towards the upkeep
    Let me know

With Clements nearing fitness I'd like him back in, move Freckleton to left c/b and rest Grimes,Grimes' distribution and decision making is at best iffy and he ain't captain material either,he finds touch more often than George Ford, no wonder Colclough looks knackered

Nail on the head-JG costs to many goals

There's at least one 'Cook Out' comment further up the thread - that's the embarrassment I'm referring to.
Obviously he deserves criticism today, mainly for the poor substitution decisions and for selecting Palmer again (even though it's obvious his legs have gone).
My take on today is this.. first half we were in absolute control. Second half, our pressing from the whole team slowed down which enabled Altrincham more time on the ball. This, along with sloppiness from both full backs, and a passive RCB cost us the game. A new RCB has to be top priority.

So yet again in your eyes Grimes comes away with no blame -Proper Captains organise and cajole ‘passive players ‘ -the problem is Grimes is also a passive player and has been a consistent for 2 years of awful defensive displays.

My favourite quote has always been ‘Its the definition of madness keep doing the same things and expecting different results’

As far as Cook is concerned he has shaped the whole football club and assembled a great squad of players (defensively aside) but I do fear his stubbornness will cost us eg Maguire not being near the squad, reluctance to change tactics when clearly not working, assembling a top heavy coaching staff and then blaming a lack of training facilities for the type of performance put in today.

I would expect the likes of Naylor and Grigg will be having a word with him as I am sure they didn’t buy into this

I am hoping todays shocking display will create a proper backlash within the club and fully expect to see major changes against the current league leaders anything less will suggest that lessons are still not being learned (despite Webb continually promising that we will learn the lessons )

Signing a RCB will not stop the shambolic defensive without further changes in the defensive unit
