So, 5 years since he died and 5 years to get the club turned round.

This is the opening paragraph from the Club Historian's Obituary for Barrie...

'In a quiet corner of St. Paul's Cathedral is a memorial stone to Sir Christopher Wren, its architect, which bears the legend "If you seek his monument, look around you." A similar thing might not go amiss at The Proact Stadium as a memorial to Barrie Hubbard, three times a Chairman of the Chesterfield Football Club, who passed away in December 2015.'

I thank CFC for today's piece but as far as I know there is no permanent memorial to Barrie at CFC, be it a bust, a portrait, a plaque, or owt.
Perhaps if there's any spare cash in the coffers, summat could be done.

There is, in the Memorial Garden, a Plaque. Best take a look.

Yep. Sorry Phil, I've seen that. In your opinion is that adequate?

Nice to see the club acknowledging the 5 years since he passed away. I think a painting in reception would be a nice, particularly one done by a local artist.

Another reason to be glad we have our club back in the hands of fans and another shameful example of how the despicable ex regime treated our club, fans, history and heritage. God its so glad to be rid of them and have proper Chesterfield people in and not dee-daa scum.

Mounted in a frame to resemble the old 'Hole in the Wall' through which Barry used to sell you tickets.

Good idea. Put a slammable hatch over it for authenticity.
