I am not suggesting doing anything dishonest at work, I mean legitimately (sp) ask for the day off.
This week, I have been mostly... drinking excessively

It won't be beer cabbage. It will be a magnitude of different drinks, Lager, bitter, guinness, vodka, brandy, might even stick babycham in there.

Hence "Pub Golf"

A different drink in each pub. (Every-one has the same drinks)

Not sure how many "holes" - 9 maybe for starters and see how it's going.

If we do 9 the drinks would be (for example)

Pub 1 - Fosters
Pub 2 - Vodka + orange
3 - Southern Comfort
4 - Cider
5 - Guinness
6 - Brandy
7 - Stella
8 - Bottle of VK
9 - Triple Scotch

Read above, Babycham is an option.

It is not supposed to be fun, it is meant to be punishing, after all who actually enjoy's cider? - more for team morale!

Err can we skip pub 5? i'd rather drink mud than guiness.

Where is it we are intending to go anyway? Round town? Im a bit confused here.... so the best way for us to get results and beat other teams at football is to go out on a ****-up with a golf theme? lol sounds different but count me in!
