9 days before Christmas and Club shop is only open for 2 of them.

Surely it's one of the most profitable times for it?

I'm up in a couple of days and would have naturally popped in for a nose around and possibly pick up some bits and bobs.

A family member popped in on Friday I think for a couple of bits for Christmas. Said they were shocked about how little choice of stock there was in there. Don’t think they ended up buying anything at all in the end.

They sell less so they stock less and they then sell even less and so on until you get to where we are now.

A shop can only be profitable if they sell a product where there is a demand for it. Everything in the shop has been on sale all season and I guess the demand has peaked. One punters dissapointment ain't going to convince any marketing strategy that opening the shop all week is going to make it worthwhile

I went in a couple of weeks ago looking for some prezzies for spireite family members. Hardly any stock at all. If that store was on the high street you would think it was closing down.
Whoever is in charge of running and stocking this place is a disgrace. Hey Ashley??

Any news on any of the interested parties getting close to a deal,?
Did Zorro set up that account for folk to buy shares??
Did the trust get backing for their bid??
Seems to have gone very quiet.

All,

The time has come for all the fans to unite and start sending the pledges in. We have created a new company which is CFC Fans Account Ltd, we may change the name Account to either Association or Society at a later date. For now the account is purely for a vehicle to handle the purchase. The new company is purely in my name but directors will be added as and when we have elected a board of directors on success of our buyout. These directors will be chosen by the fans after any individual has applied to be a board member and sent in their CV to be studied before going towards a selection panel. - Simple mechanics.

One problem we faced was the bank account and timescale. Because of money laundering legalities, I felt it was unwise to go down the route of opening a company account at this minute in time, sending money into a new account would have attracted too much attention and I felt the fans would not go to the trouble of supplying passport photo's or driving licences to validate their existence.

The second problem is that the CFSS bank account is controlled by persons who are involved with the Trust, which prevented me from going down that route.

I sought the help of Paul & Kimberly Goodwin relating to assisting us with an account, they have a dormant account which they have made available for us to use and money can be put in straight away. The Bridge Inn Travel is a non-profiting society which is what we needed.

The aim now is to collate all the pledges from individuals & companies so that we can reach our target and precede with a very quick purchase. Any money that is submitted, needs to be sent in with the contact details of an individual so that we can correspond with them. If the target is NOT reached, then ALL the monies will be returned to the individuals.

We have created a form for donations which needs 'tweaking' - the individual will be able to confirm if it's a donation, share purchase or loan. The minimum requirement for shares is £200, but obviously I would like to see those £500 & £5,000 flying in ;)

The form will become available online for downloading once it has been tweaked. I will take a few of the first designed forms with me on Boxing Day for a few of my associates and friends which I will hand out. I will also ask Lisa in the club shop if she can help out if anyone wants to collect.

Lastly, I would like to wish all CFC fans a very Merry Christmas and hopefully a new start for the club in 2020. Thank you to all those that pm me and to those who have worked hard behind the scenes with me.

I will try to keep my message box empty if anyone needs to know more. I think it is unfair to inform you of our offer price and timescale at this moment in time. Our solicitors are now on holiday until the new year, but that shouldn't stop us all from uniting to resolve the long & tiresome opportunity to takeover the club and start the process of stabilising.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Rob (aka Zorro)

Rob, I assume this to supplement your other backers/partners. So, as you cannot reveal the asking price which I fully understand, what sort of amount are you needing to raise from this fan’s initiative? I will however honour the pledge I made and will send it when the forms are done etc.
A new hope.

Obviously, I understand why you cannot divulge certain financial information like the offer price or the timescale but my concerns remain with the ongoing running costs of a viable and, hopefully, succesful club.

Can you confirm that if the appropriate funds are raised to purchase the club you are confident that your consortium are capable of providing the necessary monies to finance the ongoing requirements and deal with the cash flow problems that will arise?

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Rob (aka Zorro)

Rob.

Congratulations on the progress that has seemingly being made.

I’ve worked in banking and provision of commercial funding for thirty plus years and the first tenet of lending / gifting / pledging money, call it what you will in this situation, is the ability of management to operate a viable business. Rule one. Day one. Otherwise why would one give money?

I like many others am minded to become involved here simply to save the club that we all love. However, I’m really struggling with pledging money that I know I won’t see again to a faceless entity where apart from you we know nothing of the character, ability and integrity of whoever may be directors going forward.

You state that directors will be appointed by fans post takeover? What if an ‘investor’ isn’t convinced by the make up of any future board? Will an option exist to choose reimbursement of the pledged monies?

Unless I’ve missed it, and apologies if I have, how much are you seeking to raise via these pledges?

Additionally, assuming a takeover is achieved where is the business plan to ensure the viability and sustainability of the club going forward from a working capital perspective including the assumptions used?

I don’t want to appear negative. I’d love the club to be saved but as I see things here you’re asking for fans to pretty much blindly give their hard earned without a view on who would run the club and how they’d make it work, and until there’s some clarity around these key factors I will, unfortunately, be keeping my money in my wallet as anything else is akin to blind faith and I’ve done that for forty odd years of following this club and look where that’s got me.

Good luck though.

Jon.

The financial pledges include gifts, shares and loans so I’d suggest the latter may be the only one that isn’t essentially a gift

I’d be happy to purchase shares realising I’ll never see the money again but like others I like to know a bit more detail before committing such as the proposed share capital. Rob mentioned earlier the no individual would be allowed purchased more than 20%. I’d hate for someone in the future to hoover up the shares like DA did.
