He's made of chocolate that kid. Don't like these 8-10 over spells before the close. I always imagine closing on 18/4 or something.

When he played against us last season he was on the way back from an ankle injury and was only allowed to bowl a couple of 5 over spells....got me out in the 6th over of his second spell which was annoying as was getting out smashing him to cover not getting clean bowled!!

22-0 in the end...good day!!

Elsewhere....Somerset have had a decent day with the bat!!

Somerset 441/5 (96.0 ov)
Somerset RR 4.59

And they arent even playing at home!!

And Hampshire aren't doing to bad in Leeds 350/5 (94.1 overs) mainly through Simon Katich's 179 no :angry

Glamorgan all out for 236. Need to bat big now and then bowl them out again!!

Footitt only bowled 3.5 overs so suspect he's done for this game!!

Yes looks like he is finished bowling in this game and probably longer. Pulled up holding his back and left the

field straightaway.

Think he's had back issues previously as well.

Good day so far despite a 75 minute delay this morning. Guptill was a slow starter today but he's kicking on now and if I were Glamorgan I'd be a little concerned.

Yep...he's looking a little ominous. Hopefully go on and set the platform for a big score. Madsen happy to sit in at the other end watching him go from the best seat in the house.

Always good when the first test of the summer gets underway as well. Good fairly balanced morning but the two wickets after lunch make to fear for a Windies collapse. Making me look forward a little more to our trip to Trent Bridge next Sunday for Day 3.

100 for Guptill in 143 balls. Second fifty come in 55 balls partly because of the twenty boundaries he'****!! 159/1.

It's a decent mix we've got at the top of the order. Not only are we capable of scoring runs we're capable of scoring them quickly. If Guptill's still in at the close (which is doubtful) he'll be well past 200.

Last Bat MJ Guptill lbw b Reed 132 (224m 189b 20x4 1x6) SR: 69.84
Fall of wicket: 213/2 (62.2 ov); Partnership: 170 runs, 44.2 overs, RR: 3.83

That said Durston has come in and looks to be trying to carry on where he left off!!

Away from the UK for a moment....Chris Gayle just smashed 128 from 62 balls including 13 sixes!! Apparently he scored 61 from 18 balls at one point going from 38* to 99*!!

Watched it on ITV4. Absolutely brutal batting. The bowlers are now in a darkened room crying!

I'm not sure i'd know what to do in that situation!! They were going at 15.8 an over at one point!!

Back home not a good day for Derbyshire despite the little wobble near the end. Finished on 335-5 to lead by 99 runs. Madsen unbeaten on 122 to go with Guptill's hundred.

Glamorgan 188 all out so Derbyshire need 70 to win. 14 overs left today and they if they are close they can claim the extra 30mins play, i suspect weather & light permitting, if they look like winning. Expect Guptill to get on with it and Borrington to play for the not out!! ;)

Glamorgan will be wanting to get home tonight. I thought getting bowled out quickly this morning could be a good thing. All those draft players will get to play tomorrow locally.
