Yes he had a good game, he stuggles to find a blue shirt once he's won it though.

You didn't notice we were being picked apart until Cooper came and then it stopped. Some of that might be because Hird went into midfield, but if so that could be an indicator that Hird will be needed elsewhere from time to time.
Anyway two experienced CDs is not enough. As far as I aware Raglan and Broadhead have played there completive football in the 7th tier of English football. There is no evidence as yet that they are capable of playing 3rd tier. I really wouldn't be comfortable seeing Hird and one of those two at the back if Evatt was injured, they'd be no physicality for starters.
If Cooper goes we need a replacement, period

Not me, Chuck. If you think he's the answer, fair enough - only time will tell.
The OTT start to the thread says it all really - he had an avarage game, no more than that. Cooper showed the difference a class act makes, and that we need.

How much time ? I think PC said the same and quickly removed him from the transfer list

Sam Hird is a quality player.
He didn't have a very good first season and was a huge let down. We all know that.
It shows his character though, that when placed on the transfer list he didn't moan or belly ache in interviews, didn't sulk or spit out his dummy - he knuckled down, won his place in the side at the start of the season, and for the first 9 games of the season was solid as a rock as we conceded a record low number of goals.
He is comfortable on the ball, calm with it in defence and uses it wisely when possible, or boots it clear when needed. He can play in midfield when needed, and is also usefull cover at RB. Its also worth noting that for corners/free kicks in the opponents box, he has scored more goals than any of out other CB.
The one person who refuses to acknowledge Hirds contribution however - well, what can I say about him?

You can say what you like about me, mi duck, and you usually do, but you won't turn Hird into a central defender we can rely on in L1.
As for RB, forget it, no pace. Midfield replacement for Ryan or Morsy is just a joke. He might get a game in front of the back four if we're going into defensive mode for the last half hour though.

Thankfully your thoughts have no bearing on team selection, mi duck!

would you be so kind as to remind me of what position, what level, and how many times Hird played for Doncaster Rovers?
It might help me understand why he isnt good enough to play in L1 as anything other than a bit part player off the bench.
