Seen plenty On social media about the location, absolutely nothing from the club as per.

Would be a cracking trip, to a very good city

Didn't they buy out Ferencvaros, along with Chengdu? I seem to remember a chat I had with some SUFC coaches on a visit there about 10 years ago, and they mentioned absorbng the debt of small clubs like this in the hope of finding a gem to polish in Sheffield

A company that McCabe owned, based in Hungary bought the club in 2008, but then sold it in 2011.

Our own Paul Shaw went there the season after he left us, and I think Matt Lowton was one of the Shef Utd youngsters sent out there on loan, too.

Visited Budapest in 2014.Beautiful City and dirt cheap for food drink and accommodation.Ferencvaros have a nice new compact stadium close to the city centre.Their supporters have a bit of a reputation though.

The raffle was due to have taken place today for the pre-season trip, should we assume from the lack of news it didn't take place ?

There's a link here. My guess if this is true we'll play Budapest Honved

Glad about that, I was a teenage armchair Honved fan.

Bit of a PR disaster if zero tickets were sold. Unfair on that one person if only one did too!

If only one person bought a ticket surely they are the winner

Reckon that must be Turner idea, selling raffle tickets at £20 when nobody knows the prize

certainly the indications are they abandoned the idea, would be good to know if anyone bought a ticket.

I was hoping today would be the day they confirmed the trip and the remaining friendlies

For the small club, Honved. Zoltan Gera is still going. He's at Ferencvaros, seems an age since he played in the premier league here.

I doubt the Ultra's would be out in force for a friendly against Town or bothered about kicking up a fuss with a tiny contingent of Town fans. I think your pretty safe.

Myself and a mate blagged our way in to a Ferencvaros home game a few years ago, you couldn't get into their games without a membership card at the time because of all the trouble, the away team had brought about 50'fans max and there were hundreds of old bill, absolute monsters in full robo-cop gear! Their fans monkey chanted the one black player on the opposition team and spat the shells of nuts out all over the terracing!! Made some racket though!! Nipped in ththe club shop after... They were selling protein powder!! Real football that!

I took a random game in espanyol vs tel aviv at the old Olympic stadium for the 1992 games...the bars turn up on the back of lorries and park on the hill to the ground.

Me being bigger than the average Spaniard and sporting a sizeable nose...i stood out. They asked me if I was a Jew...both times when I spoke English and told them I supported chesterfield were super friendly but in the ground the Spaniards were an absolute disgrace with their racism...if any of our clubs had acted like they did we'd be dragged through it.i think they eventually won the tournament...funny though that nothing seemed to come of it

Thought it was still banned. In any event its not public entertainment, which is significant.

Back in the eighties it was dying on it's feet until foreign tourism revived it, that's significant too

Anyway what the **** has it got to do with our lack of preseasn freindlies
