To suggest southern bias though like you did is ignorant at best- what basis do you have to suggest so?

The way the non league pyramid is structured guarantees a high proportion of southern/south midlands clubs in the NL, NLN and NLS and only one of the leagues that feeds them can be classed as truly northern

It is a matter of geography not a conspiracy, but it seems natural that decision making al that level will be skewed towards the majority

I have, posted a lot about them when we?re last in the leagues. All very vague.
Another way of looking at it- just how many clubs have been penalised for breaking SCMP rules? I can find very little on the subject, and in any event the only penalty appears to be restricting new registrations.

This site was useful when I was researching it before. Not sure if it?s bang up to date though.

It should be on every football fans reading list :)

In view of the fact that our de facto owner is a qualified chartered accountant, and that the rules aren’t difficult to interpret, I’m sure we will fully understand the SCMP rules. In any event, while ever the Kirks are willing to convert loans to share capital there will be no issue.

Stockport lost £4.5M in 22/23, covered by £6M of new share capital.

I was suggesting that it is quite easy to fall foul of the SCMP rules (especially when the club changes leagues) not that the Kirks weren?t up to the task. Hopefully they have the nouse to avoid the pitfalls of over estimating. They seemed supremely confident that they would be comfortably inside the 50% of income and as you suggested if they have as much cash and commitment as it appears, they could inject more capital if need be.

I wonder if you have cast your eyes over the SCMP rules? Even though there is a lot of detail it strikes me that there is a lot of assumptions to be made for the current reporting year and its vague how previous reporting years are used to form part of the calculation. Probably the major reason why the league descended on the club a few weeks ago.

He was loan from Arsenal and he returned to his parent club when that loan ended…not quite the same as we got rid of him. Judging by the details Cook called him about coming back this time so Cook must be a fan.

As for budgets it’s stricter this year as we have to meet EFL financial rules so we can’t really overspend.

Actually we can get it wrong and if we do we’ll get sanctioned. Hopefully we understand all the rules and more importantly how they are interpreted.

Drummond is basically on a years trial, If he does well I'd expect him to be singing a new deal in December.

Berry Sale was announced as "makes the move to Chesterfield FC for new club record undisclosed fee."

Macclesfield Towns record sale was 300k (Rickie Lambert to Stockport County) but given they're now AFC Macclesfield I think it's more likely to have been in the 75-125k range

Well £100K was bandied about at the time and it caught traction. To be honest I’d be shocked if any upfront payment was any where near that given his age and his success was at an 8th tier club.
