How bad would that look ? North and South resuming and our division packing in?

Surely will add pressure to clubs in our division to carry on (maybe scope for part loan/part grant) because the clubs below will want promotion and the likes of Dover (who won last night) will still fancy their chances of escaping

As one of the replies to that tweet says, in the absence of grants, surely they'll just refuse again.

Maybe I'm naively over-simplifying here.

But surely it's case of the government paying eleven million in a grant or spending several millions in furlough payments. Not to mention the incalculable number of knock-on costs.

They found billions for crony contracts, multi-millions when backed into an embarrassing corner by Marcus Rashford and even more multi-millions when the fishing industry suffered Brexit chaos last week.

Okay, the NL are probably equally culpable, but it looks like straightforward maths to me...

Yep, sounds like the league have given up trying to negotiate a change a stance

So if I’ve read this correctly.

Steps 3-6 get grants.

Steps 1&2 get a low interest loan OR a grant but will have to argue their case?

What a sh1tshow. Honestly. Imagine 3-6 goes ahead and NL / NL N&S get canned.

The problem is Chris there are many other businesses out there that have had no grants, nothing to replace their revenue, no sources of income and they would probably argue that they are more deserving than football..... I get that they are going to pay one way or another but they have to consider the wider knock on effect...

The NL Board convinced clubs to start the season with no fans without really understanding the package on offer. They are more than equally culpable (and lets leave the politics to off topic / personal section)

I thought steps 3-6 were from L1, step3, L2 step 4, NL step 5 and NL N&S step 6?

Not sure that will allow steps 3-6 to carry on, but anyway that’s a good thing, clubs liquidate over 10K at that level.

Let’s be clear though, we (the NL) have shat our own bed misusing the initial monies

Sounds like we will get more money, but fear we will be screwed by the league not continuing

Sports Minister Nigel Huddleston said:

“We promised to support sports and target help to where it’s most needed. Today we continue to deliver on that with further support for National League football clubs.

“The National League has already benefited from the Government support schemes through a £10 million Government-brokered cash partnership with the National Lottery, and there will be more support for the bigger clubs on the way.

That statement adds some confusion does it not...

Loans for the NL to continue
Cash for bigger clubs ( is that only if we continue?)
No club goes bust (so clubs will get grants if they really need it)

Hope our transfer activity doesn’t raise eyebrows

So, we need people with the necessary skill set to successfully interpret the rules for getting a grant, assuming the rules have been set out. I'd back our Board, perhaps assisted by Phil T, to come good.

Whilst I think we didn't show the caution we should have, I think we ought to be able to explain the transfer activity as normal trading activity expecting we would be shipping players out.

For me the issue is if the league stops we won't qualify for replacement funding and will be screwed with 12 new players we can't furlough

Yes one thing in our favour is we have a board experienced in obtaining grants

I would suggest that our transfer activity doesnt suggest we are short of cash and we put out a statement saying we would carry on whilst taking a loan, so now suggesting we NEED a grant will be B****Y hard work....
