No lester did not have pace but his ability with the ball was something else,if he had pace he would have been premier league class,he could take a player on,dribble, head a ball and score from anywhere, technically the best forward we have ever had.
My worry is this league is absolutely dire we do need fresher legs next season its going to be much harder against better quicker defences

I don’t think there’s any chance we won’t be looking for another striker next season. I agree to some extent and have some worries about Grigg next year but is energy and holdup play has been a revelation and I’m also not sure the league is quite as bad as you are making out.

I’m also glad you have seen sense and moved away form your initial critique of Grigg whether you acknowledge it or not.

If you mean kairo Mitchell, I seem to recall chants of spireite reject at a recent game, ... let him stay that way...

I’m still of the opinion that L2 Isn’t massively different to this one, the promoted teams with league history seem to do ok, Grimsby accepted, and I feel if we retain Cook and the staff, with a couple of additions we’re more than capable of challenging for the top 3 places.
When odds are out I’ll be having a dabble at promotion odds for us all summer.

Not fishing as it goes.
Doyle was one of the best technical players we have ever had. Not as good a goal scorer as Lester of course.
Just a opinion - I’m sure Cookie would agree - he did say a couple of years ago he was the most proficient player he’s worked with

I can see another big name centre forward joining us in the summer to complement Grigg.

Wouldn’t be shocked to see Tyreece Simpson joining on loan from Huddersfield either.

I don’t think your -observations are clinical enough. Grigg’s not a 100 metre sprinter, but acceleration off the mark is what he’s got, and always has had.

Wor I’d like to know is whether our position gives us a real advantage as the transfer deadline approaches. Is it better to pounce then or wait until the close season?

To pounce or wait,I would imagine that is down to PC having any targets, which I would think most of us will assume he has,and if he has I personally am assuming that the earlier we attain the champions position should be an advantage?
