I really don't think he could play CM and he certainly couldn't play as a ball winner/all action box to box kinda guy imo.

Time will tell and Cooky will know all about his capabilities. He's here training so who knows.

Think he could play most places in midfield area. A talented lad from what I've seen.

I don't think he could be any further away from being like morsy

Cover for Roberts? I thought he looked pretty useful last night - sign him up if the money's right, but I'd have thought somebody would pay him more than we can. The PC magic might have a bearing though.

I,m surprised nobody has made the link between boco being around and armand,s form. Boco might be doing a sterling job explaining tactics and generally helping PC.

Good point, Benin is french speaking

edit : just read he was born and brought up in France and incidentally was occasionally played at right back by Cook at Sligo.

Thankfully we wouldnt lose him in January for a few weeks as yesterday Malawi knocked Benin out of the qualfying stages of the African Cup of Nations on penalties, not sure if Boco who has been captain (would that be a first ?) played

Not superior knowledge, just understanding basic football. Morsy is a strong, tough tackling, aggressive midfielder, Boco is a technical player.

That's a good point. He also, by playing on the right, could still give some width while Dave is at RB, and allow Banks/Gardner to play up top
A new hope.

‏@ChesterfieldFC ·5m Paul Cook is hopeful of signing Romuald Boco on non-contract terms.

Happy with that if this happens, only need to pay if we actually need him.

I always thought Non contract terms usually mean a players doesn't get paid a wage, but more just expenses as and when required, and possible performances related bonuses only.

I expect there are reasonable expenses and an appearance fee. However should Boco still be with us on 1st September then he cannot sign anywhere else above step 2 until January.

Well, yes, that's what I was saying. He'll only get paid if he plays, ie if we need him.

And that is clearly an unlawful restraint of trade which will bring down the whole 'transfer window' farce as soon as the next Bosman decides to take them to court.

Personally I think we will and do need him. At times last season delivery of the ball into the box was poor. TD was very reluctant to take a man on and go to the goal line, so crosses if they came in at all didn't seem to penetrate into the right area at the right time. If AG is to shine he'll need a good supply, hopefully that's something RB will be capable of.

with Drew out Dave will move into Defence I think we will need to play Boco so fairly good business in the current financial state.
