I thought Oldham had won it even before a ball was kicked

For a laugh, worth listening to Micky Mellon’s post match interview after the match at the weekend. Not a happy chappy. Not BBC language. Words like cr#p and p###ed off in use.

He was being compared to unsworth by the home support the other day on X (twitter for the old uns) so patience maybe starting to run thin, a nice early goal on satdi and things could be fun in the home ends.. 🤣
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

There is a video on Twitter of their fans spitting the dummy at their players on the final whistle on Saturday….very amusing.

With Barnet and Bromley both off tonight, I think that means we can't win it at Oldham Saturday, even if we win tonight and at Oldham.

Looking at it, if we win tonight and Saturday we could still win it but only at 5 o’clock Saturday when both Bromley and Barnet have played and they’d both have to drop points.

That would be a bit shi*. I say let one of em win and let’s do it whilst actually playing at Halifax (if it’s on of course)

Edit: only Barnet would need to drop points Saturday in the above scenario as Bromley would be 28 points behind with only 27 to play for.

Only Barnet would have to drop points if we win our next 2, Bromley couldn't catch us..

Yep i'm with that thinking as well.....if we win tonight and Saturday then Barnet cant drop points on Saturday otherwise its done.

Whilst this wouldnt be the greatest way to do it i'm not sure i care any more and just want it done!

You might need wellies to do that....definitely wouldnt wear nice white trainers!!

Be interesting to see what Halifax do with entry to the ground should it happen. Not sure what the total away capacity is but i suspect a lot would be travelling.

Given the long range forecast between now and the 20th, I'll be gob-smacked if that's still on, which opens it up to clinch the title at home against Tshimanga and co!

Met office have minimal rain between end of tomorrow and next Monday plus the pitch wont be used before our scheduled game which gives it a chance....however Westbars Spireites favourite Norwegian weather service has plenty of rain so you would think thats it done for.

I think in reality the vast majority would love to see us finish it off at home with loads there to see it.

I want us to win it on Saturday cos I can then pop the champers open on the front garden spraying it like a formula one winner. Saturday will be then hangover inducing day. 👍

BBC have it raining every day:

https://www.bbc.com/weather/hx1

Doesn't look like the pitch drains very well so any rain will take a while to go

Pity they've still got a game on the 6th, otherwise we could have played them then!

This sudden fixture congestion experienced by some clubs is completely self-inflicted. Why on earth does the league finish so early in April? Surely it isn’t to do with 38 week contracts!

Play off final is 4th May....is it an early finish due to that as its the only date they could have Wembley?

Looking at the events on a Wembley its quite busy :-
12th May - Womens FA Cup Final
18th May - League One Play Off Final
18th May - League Two Play Off Final
25th May - FA Cup Final
26th May - Championship Play Off Final
1st June - Champions League Final
