As others have said Colclough seemed keen to come back on initially so he also didnt think it was that bad.

Jacobs had to help lift him off the pitch. He looked in real pain as he passed the South Stand on his trek around half the perimeter of the pitch.

Making him walk around the pitch with an ankle injury was just stupid.

It’s a good idea in theory - discourages players/physios from cheating, but when a platey needs two people to take him off……..

As you say plain stupid.

How do you suggest the player leaves the field?

I think he is being deliberately being obtuse.

He had to go off the pitch at the nearest point to where he was injured which in this case was the opposite side of the ground to where the changing rooms are. As he is perfectly aware this rule was brought into prevent additional time wasting by players and medical staff. This rule is not always applied and needing two people to cart him probably should’ve alerted the referee to the severity of the injury.

No I’m not.
A player doesn’t have to leave at the nearest point. A physio can overrule a referee is any circumstance relating to player safety (at all levels).
Agreed it may have helped to have a couple of people carry him off - but if a player walks off by his own volition he always will be encouraged to do so (as the injury following the initial short triage period would look as though it wouldn’t be bad to do so).
A stretcher if available would only be used for lower leg fractures or other (worse) conditions)- but only if suitable trained staff are pitchside. An ankle injury would never really merit a stretcher at any level

A broken ankle wouldn’t merit a stretcher?

That's a major problem though, "a physio can overrule a referee". When so many physios undermine their professional status by cowtailing to the cheating demands of the coaches and become COMPLICIT to cheating by using varying methods to delay the gamee.

No not ordinarily.
Unless a compound fracture when a splint etc would be applied. These thankfully so rare.
But with that the player wouldn’t of course be able to walk.

I walked around on a broken ankle for 3 days and when I finally went to the doctor he bollocked me for doing so. Being able to walk has nothing to do with the severity of the injury likelihood of aggravating it.

The one thing that I agree with is it is the medical staffs decision of what is appropriate and if all that is around is CPS, we are in deep ****

Why the need for a personal insult (yet again)? Did I sleep with your mum and never all her again or something? Or are you just resorting to type)?

As a side issue to CPS’s nonsense, where have the medical staff gone? Don’t the St John’s ambulance attend anymore?

Funny how people who dish it out continually are sensitive to receiving it.

No he’s right.
If there are sufficient to use a stretcher then they can be used for pluses as well.
