Thats why IMO he'll win Player of the season!

That's exactly why we will finish mid-table - pathetic given the resources and size of our wages budget.

Unfortunately the whole squad (exception Lester) is simply not good enough. We can all pretend and think we are but when you compare this side with previous promotion sides then the more educated can see the hugh differences in quality.

The league table does not lie - 13th after 29 matches.

Need I say more.

P.S Games in hand mean nothing its all about points on the board.

Underperformed for 29 matches mean's that they are not good enough. This is two/thirds of the season not just a few matches.

How can you say they are not good enough? Dag & Red havent a great team and they are having a bliding season in and out of the play-offs. We have a good team in IMO that have massively underperformed thats all. You cannot say the majority of are team bar Lester are poor players.

FORMER Stags wingman Ryan Williams has finally sealed his return to Field Mill after successfully completing a trial at Field Mill this week.

The 30-year-old was released by BSP crisis club Weymouth at the start of the week and has been at Mansfield ever since.

He has signed an 18-month deal and goes straight into the squad for the Stags' match at Rushden on Saturday - a squad without defender Scott Garner, wingman Louis Briscoe and possibly striker Rob Duffy.

"I wanted to have a look at Ryan, we have seen he has great quality crossing a ball," said boss David Holdsworth.

"He is a Mansfield boy who certainly has lots of quality and ability. He can contribute this season and next."

Williams started his football career at the Stags as a junior, playing in 29 matches in two years from 1995-97. The midfielder left the Mill in a £70,000 move to Tranmere and also commanded fees of £85,000 and £150,000 in transfers to Chesterfield and Hull City.

In more recent seasons he has been in the BSP with Forest Green, Aldershot and then Weymouth.

Williams said: "It's good to be home. I've always said that I wanted to return to Mansfield and it has come true."

I thought he was from Chesterfield. I mean, he did go to Tupton Hall school. He was in the year above me.
I still think he can do a job in the lower leagues. Remember he was released from Weymouth because of the dire straights they're in, not because he's rubbish. Good signing for the stags

Probably couldn't cut it at L2 level now but should be a decent signing for us.

"It's a dream come true" says Ryan, hmmm, a bit of bottom licking me thinks. As long as he does the business on the pitch I'm happy.

Good signing and he can still do the proverbial job at Mansfield

Though at his age, I'd expect him to create sooner than execute; could be wrong

Oh for the bitter and twisted who are only upset because he left for a bigger club on a fee.

A bigger club who were basically able to double his wages.

Oh the sheer greed of it, unlike the common man on the street who of course would not think of changing employer to to the exact same job for more money.

Am I alone in thinking that people citing greed in footballers (except Joe Cole) are so out of touch it's unbeliueveable.
